I have been looking at folding bikes, or any kind to put in the cv or hang on the front. Riding can be fun, weather permitting. Has anyone tried the bike thing>
We have a folding bike that we get out every once in awhile. I have found that I do not enjoy riding next to the street which I often have to do trying to get to a trail.
At MATS this year in the Papa Johns Parking lot will be a bike clinic sponsored by a bunch of drivers who are bike nuts. These guys are working on a really cool website that will detail where they have found bike and walking trails around the United States and where to park a semi.
I have seen a preview of their website and they are doing a very professional job. The site uses satellite tracking, road names, and points of interest along the trails. I am sure at MATS they will be unrolling this web site for all to use.
One of their big projects it to get a company to manufacture bike mounting systems for trucks. They are well on their way to getting this done.
If you are on facebook look at this page Truckin' Runners as they often post trails that you can ride a bike on near truck stops.
Dahon makes a very broad line of folders from a basic single speed to top line multi speeds and offers different wheel sizes as well. There's a website thorusa.com that's a serious dealer for them and often has remainders from a year or two back selling at good discounts. To my knowledge there's nothing wrong with them, just the last dribs that didn't sell sooner. If you want to go beyond cadillac level the Brompton line is considered top of the line. You order those to your specs and wait on it's arrival. You might also want to spend some time on bikeforums.net to research more.
