In all fairness, from the article at the link provided by Dave...

“By sending a large, respectful, and professional delegation to Tampa, we will show the party and the country that .,. our movement is growing and here to stay,” wrote Paul strategist Jesse Benton in a convention strategy memo.
Or, as Mr. Benton put it later in a conference call with reporters, “we’re emphasizing decorum.”
Now, I'm not the sharpest tack in the drawer, but that sure seems to me to be saying what Dave said it did. What am I missing?

Every society has a social code which determines acceptable and unacceptable behavior. The generally accepted social code is usually reflected in a nation's law. The United States is no different in this regard. We live in a nation of 300 million people. Moreover, this nation was founded by Europeans influenced by the Judeo-Christian tradition. Not surprisingly, most Americans identify with Christian tradition and expect their values to be reflected in law. If you were born in the US, you were born into this system. It was bequeathed to us by preceding generations. No matter which country a person chooses to live in, there will be a system of government in place dictating terms of acceptable behavior as expressed in law. There is no libertarian utopia free from government. The absence of government would be anarchy.

Competing groups will clash to set the social code. Sometimes conservatives win, sometimes the liberals win. That's our system. Same deal with foreign policy. Libertarians are destined to live in frustration.

If Romney lets the Paul camp into his inner circle, he will find himself surrounded by more backstabbers than Julius Caesar.
No comment ....

If the Paulies keep making trouble, now or at the convention, the Paul brand will be destroyed. Meaning, Rand is finished as well.
It sounds like you are advocating (and you have actually done it in the past .... and continue to harp on it) to target someone not for their own individual acts or political views .... but for their familial connections ....

And you really wonder why I occasionally refer to "goose-stepping" and "nazi-like" tactics ?

Looks like that Hatfield-McCoy thing still lingers on in the blood .... :p

Dave said that the campaign said that it couldn't control some of it's supporters ....

I didn't find that anywhere in the article .... if you - or anyone else - did please point me to it ....

If Benton (a campaign strategist for the Paul campaign)is calling reporters on behalf of the Paul campaign, would he not be representing the Paul campaign? I didn't see that he was speaking for Romney.

Who is Jesse Benton, and what is his function with regard to Ron Paul?

So you are admitting that article didn't actually say what you originally asserted ...

It's your "interpretation" ....

Got it.

You accuse others (who aren't doing it) of doing the exact thing you yourself are doing ....

A little too late. Everyone else read it just as I did.

On a side note, might want to review your own comprehension skills before worrying about mine.

In all honesty I find your comment rather interesting. But my thoughts are...

Sometimes those who believe they are the most independent are the ones actually falling into a group think mentallity and doing what they are instructed to by a select few, all while accusing others if just that. The only problem is they forgot to look in the mirror that morning.

That's your opinion. I don't march lockstep with anyone. I have my own ideas of how I'd want the government run. But they MOSTLY fall in line with the libertarians. Yes, I've integrated the light narcotics being legalized, and the fact that the US military is a big bad bully, into my own philosophy. But, all in all, I am my own man. I certainly don't subscribe to any MSM crap; and I used to be a Fox maniac, like many on here are. But when I see they aren't giving a candidate I like a fair shake, well, poop on them.

1. Would you care to poll that ?

2. Re-read xiggi's last post.

3. People who depend on group validation suffer from a lack of certainty on their own observations.

On a side note, might want to review your own comprehension skills before worrying about mine.
At some future point, should it ever arrive (and it very well might), where you can actually point out a lack of comprehension on my part of the written word, please by all means ..... do point it out ....

I suspect that if you are actually accurate in your observation (something that seems to becoming more questionable as time marches on) I will readily acknowledge my error .... given the fact that I have done so in the past.

Reading comprehension is the ability to understand written communication in order to receive and relay without substantial error what is being conveyed by the writer. It does not mean being able to pedantically split hairs of precise language where price language is not used.

Entirely irrelevant to any point I was making about the inaccuracy of a particular assertion of yours ....

Entirely irrelevant? If that's true, then you have a reading comprehension problem. If Jesse Benton represents the campaign in any way, shape or form, then it is not inaccurate at all to refer to his statements about the campaign or about campaign issues as being made by the campaign.

Don't think so ....

I never said that it was (inaccurate) .... that's your strawman ....

What I said was that it was irrelevant ....

And what I (originally) said - and what my point was - was that Dave's assertion (paraphrased) that the campaign had said it couldn't control it's supporters was inaccurate.

It was inaccurate - therefore who Jesse Benton works for (or not) is irrelevant as to the point of the accuracy of Dave's assertion.

By using the word "last" I referenced the wrong post of your's ....

No biggie .... acknowledging one's errors doesn't have to be a big deal ....
