ESPAR HEATING SYSTEM INFO!!!!!!

I need to know info on an Espar Heating Systems in an A14 GMC cube truck. Will it heat up the whole truck? Will it keep warm in the winter? How well do they work? Does is take the place of your exsisting system or is it self cointained? Is it worth the money? Please write me back with answers to my questions.

I will post instead of writing you for all to read.

It depends on the model of Eberspächer aka Espar. The common model for the water heater is the d5w and the air heater is d5l. these are diesel fueled heaters and are very good.

I had several d5ws in Dodge cummins trucks and they did keep everything warm, even at 0 degrees. I also had a d7w and a d10w, which kept the vehicle and box area warm (landrover without no insulation), but not hot. the d10w was something i regret getting rid of it.

It will not replace the existing heating system, it is meant as a stationary heating system.

they are expensive on this side of the pond. over in europe the cost is seasonal, right now they are expensive but summer time they are priced right.

also webesto also makes heaters that you can buy through a dealer in canada, i don't remember the name and if i do find it i will edit this post.

As mentioned, they are seperate systems from the OEM heat system. I believe both have a chart that shows the BTU, output, and what temps it will hold verses a ambient (outside) temperature.
If I remember correctly, they indicated these numbers against different square feet of space you are trying to heat.
Either dealer should be able to provide this info.

I just had an Espar Airtronic 2, their smallest model, installed in my Sprinter. They make several different sizes of heaters, I know that the largest one will keep the inside of a bus warm. Call Ray at Espar of Michigan in Romulus 734-947-0123. You'll need either the Airtronic 2 or Airtronic 4 for a truck bunk. Mine was $1400 installed with a 2-year warranty, and it works great. It doesn't replace your dashboard heater- it's a self-contained unit that draws fuel from your tank and power from your battery to create a flame, and a fan blows the heat out of the unit. Mine is tiny- 9" x 5" and 6 pounds, and it cranks out loads of heat. My problem is that I don't have any insulation in my Sprinter, so the heat doesn't stay in very long. Have to do something about that before the really cold weather hits...
