Epes Express, Why say your hiring,when you aren't

I went to the Expedite Expo,and spoke with someone at the Epes Express booth.They told me they were hiring,and they have an ad in Expedite Now,for company drivers. I filled out an app,and faxed it.Lo and behold,they're NOT hiring. Why do people have to lie? Why place an ad,when you aren't looking for company drivers ? I don't get that ! Makes me wonder how their drivers are treated ? Raspberries to them !!! : (

Hobo: did the Epes representative tell you that they were hiring company drivers in the classification that you applied for? What I mean is, if you're looking to drive a C or D unit, but they're looking to hire t/t drivers, then they ARE hiring. If they said they were hiring in the job you applied for, did you get any reason for why they weren't when you applied? Something sounds off here, but without details, we can't figure out what...

Not just EPES!!!!
How about "OH yea, all we hire are singles!"
Phone calls and apps are never answered.
Forgive me one and all, I have nothing what so ever against O/O, I had planned to be one, but I agree with everyone, you need some experience and capital. I made the trip to the Expo, got a motel room all on my dime, got smiles and greetings (some excellent workshops) by the way, and nothing but cold responses from my phone calls. I know this is a team orientated, O/O, world, but if you are not looking for singles then say so. One company did and I was alittle peeved at them at first. Now I realize they were being up front. I do have some experience running teams. I think family makes better teams! We always like to blame the other guy, but it was probably mine! I don't know! Maybe you should just keep your personal goals to yourself. Maybe it makes people nervous!
P.S. I have a team member in training, he's working on his license and age. Guess I will just run transport and wait! There I've sounded off, now I feel better. Hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings, If I did I apologize!

Yes,I was told they wre hiring straight trucks,when I was at the Expo,in Wilmington.When I made the phone call,then I was told they were just hiring T/T,after I sent my app.Why have a company ad in Expedite Now for company drivers showing straight trucks,and hand out brochures,that has company straight trucks on them at the expo,when you know plain and simple you're not hiring ? Makes no sense to me! It's like false advertising ! One hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing,or someone has their head up their behind.I thought I found something good,and got my hopes up too high. ; (
