Just when I was getting ready to buy a pellet stove..I see prices going up faster now.

We have used ours now for 3 years ....works great...Big E brand...about $ 1300, new...got ours on spring clearance $ 799........heating solely our 2500 sq.ft. ranch style home.....clean even heat...ceiling fan on slow moves air through out the house....use only 100% hardwood pellets with almost no ash...is best heat quality with very little clean out of burn pot...

We been looking at them for a month or so..Harman I think is brand we settled on..Pricey lil buggers..My brother has one heating a double wide mobile home and hasn't had propane brought in for 2 1/2 years now..Also looking at the milling machines to make own pellets,,but that would be down the road if we go that route..Have a nephew who runs a tractor supply store and I'm thinking/hoping he can get some good prices on pellets.
I do have a air tight wood stove in my basement but when we build the house a few years ago we had the builder take the chimney out of the plans because of all the efficient furnaces now and it wasn't needed..Plus I didn't want to deal with chopping wood anymore.. Now I want it back with the price of propane.

I lived in Honolulu for a year.
My room had screens, not windows.
If it was 60 outside, it was 60 inside.

OK except when showering.

Funny how some feel a loss of liberty over this, which it is, but do not feel that same loss of liberty when mandated to buy a product that you don't want or need.

# 2 diesel HEATING OIL Average price 4.40 / gallon here in New York State. 12 degF -10 deg below zero F wind chill for this week, coldest winter in 30 years. Oil burner crapped out two weeks before Christmas, 5,000 as I have to replace the tank and fuel lines due to its age estimate the tank and lines 30 years old. Furnace 15 Y/O I will burn have burned through 2,000 bucks of oil betwene November through April. this year for the furnace and hot water, 212 y/o house only insulation is what I have installed. T stat 60 deg, and the heat dosent normaly run until late October- November snow or the daytime temp stays at around 35 degF or the house is colder than outside.
Now the only heat source I have available for the near foreseeable future they want to ban?

You got to love the "public hearing session" yeah right Dog and Pony shows. Look at the FDA, EPA, DOT, FMCAS, public health, and any other government agency and you will find that those at the top have direct links to the industries that they will profit from. Obviously the oil industry has offered some serious campaing money and post politics high paying jobs to those in the E.P.A.

This isn't squarely on Obama. This has been going on for quite awhile.

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

I don't think the oil industry is influencing EPA in banning these wood burners. It is merely the EPA's quest to rid the planet of carbon emissions. Whether you want or need to use them to heat your home is no concern to them. There main concern is to save the planet from global warming. Your personal liberties will just have to be more LIMITED for the greater good, according to them.

Banning wood stoves would force people onto government subsidized utilities. It would make people more dependent. With wood, they can heat WITHOUT PAYING TAXES ON THE WOOD! WOOD, at least for now, IS NOT A GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED FUEL SOURCE!

It is all about control.

They will ban us before we ever ban the EPA! They are the bureaucracy and they are in control. THEY rule OVER the People and do NOT answer to them. They do the bidding of their lord Obama. Obama need only "issue the order" and his will be done.
