When do vans have MBE 4000 engines in them?

I would first replace the radiator cap, simple and cheap. If you don't have that 15 - 20 PSI pressure, the coolant system will run hot.

Then if that doesn't solve the issue, the problem could be an air flow issue. While the truck is running down the road, the fan should rarely run (except up steep hills). BUT if your fan kicks on and the temps drop, it could show an air flow issue.

Try cleaning between the CAC, condenser and radiator first. The CAC and condenser should not be hard to remove (remember to cover the intake when you take out the CAC). While it is apart, 'wash' the radiator with a hose (NOT A POWER WASHER) from the back of the radiator (engine side) and see that comes out. Use a degreaser too, spray it up and let it sit, then rinse.

THE other problem could be the coolant itself and some crap getting into it, so when was the last time you had the entire system flushed?

OVM, I'm surprised you didn't mention the cleaning issue.

Same problem on my MBE900. Fl tech says "No problem as long as the fan comes on at 195, which it does. I still feel uncomfortable engine temps constantly running 20 degrees hotter that it has for the last five years. A blown head gasket was replaced last year. Seems funny that was the start of this running hotter.

I will try replacing the radiator cap. As to Removing and cleaning the CAC & Condenser. I don`t feel competent to do that. What do you think they would charge?

Fellow at NAPA said to use Oven Cleaner. (Ever hear of This?)
