Empty Game Rooms at TA and Petro

Diane and I are noticing that the game rooms in an increasing number of TA and Petro truck stops are empty. The pinball machines and other games are gone. The rooms stand empty and clean. Just curious of anyone knows what the plan is for that space?

Out here at the ontario east ta it has only a few games at all they put in another pool table over heard a employee saying they are gonna rent some more space like the people who have the remote control toys here. Guess they realize that's some space they can make more money on who knows.

We saw one that they had truned into a workstation area, with multiple plugs/tables. The other one was changed into one of the "stayfit" rooms with a bicycle, and a few other pieces of gym equipment.

I would reccomend a postal /mail service.. put all the fax and copy machines in there. save time at the fuel desk waiting in line for someone to get faxes done.

One of my suggestions to TA was to see if they could get a Post Office branch and/or Cop Shop into some of the vacant Petro outbuilding spaces.

That would be nice. Something kinda like FedEx office would be great.
I was thinking fed-ex/ups with usps ran by the staff whih means more jobs etc.and available 24hrs..
I just get tired waiting to pay for a cup of coffee and corndog while someone is trying to fax something. I understand this but, this sometime takes to long.
This could also work for regional drivers that may need a mailbox for when they return every 2-3 days.. for security.

Was just at the take in Duncan sc their game room said closed for remodelling. Didn't ask what they were doing. The games never seem very busy so if they replace them with something unstaffed that gets used more it makes sense.

As technology evolves with time so do alot of O / O 's .

This isn't the 1980's , feeding quarters hours on end into slots of video machines is becoming a thing on the past .

$mart O / O 's over see their business with the aid of their laptop ( past present . projected
future exspense / profits ) . It takes $$$ to run a profitable business .

Todays freight broker will soon realize they're not dealing with a bunch of " dummies " and

will have to start distributing the $$$ more fairly or lose business .

The empty game rooms are being converted to make $$$ off of what's current in today's
world .

It is always the O/O thats working and on the road, company drivers are the ones on slot machines and sleeping late, they usually don't have a dog in the race, big 10/4 the O/O...
