I've never dealt with them and the few reports I've heard have been mixed. I'd say have any vehicle checked over really well by a mechanic you trust but I'd say that for any used truck.

I bought a straight truck from them.Great people, not a big company you can talk with the owner for a good deal.I will buy my next truck from there. What I did not like ,was there finance company ,located in Southfild MI(Detroit). But this is a diffrent story.

They may not allow you to do this Leo. They are in the northern part of the thumb of Michigan and the dealers are no where close to them.

When I looked at trucks there, they were very nice and I showed up on very short notice. I didn't buy from them but I heard both bad and good about them, mostly good.

I looked at the price on Alumibunks trucks online last night. Man they are proud of them. They had two kinds of trucks I could afford they were either old or already sold.

very nice place to do business with .
a small family own and operate dealership
i have being there and test drive 2 trucks , they later on update me as more trucks came in .
they understand that they located far from everything ,and the coasts for an O/O to get there.
they did a good job Emailing me info. about the trucks so i will not waste my time getting there if they don't have the right truck for me.
quite a different from any other salesman , that understand he cannot sale a truck over the phone , and will say anything to make a potential buyer come over.
they in the business to sale trucks and did not mined where i will go for finance .
i did not found the finance company on hand to be attractive .

they have an 8 bays garage , with a few good mechanics at hand .
they did all the pre-buy tests for free , and let me be in the service bay , to watch the job .(i guess it is to far away for OSHA ...).
some tests cannot be done till you buy the truck ,do to the location ,(like front-end, oil sample ,Dino, Ext.)
they outfits all the trucks with new rubber .

they buy mosts of the trucks at AUCTION , and the trucks looks like you will expect an auction truck to look like !!!
then the mechanics go over it .

It does not matter who or where you ever buy a used from. The THREE things that MUST BE DONE.

ECM report

DYNO THIS IS A M U S T........ no exception or you take the chance of being SORRY.

HAVE A MECHANIC look it over with a check list you can get this thru OOIDA and they can also find you that person anywhere in the USA.

You skip this process, and you can read up on the young man with EXPress one and his difficulties or anyone else on here who bought the perfect used truck. Before they signed on the dotted line. One should never have to hire a lawyer doing this process, thus this should be about 5% of the bill of a lawyer by the way.

Please do not become another story on here of failure but do become one on success, and go ahead and bragg on what a good investment this was. (I got new Exhaust Manifolds on my truck since the Dyno reported the cracks that otherwise would have cought up to me oh sooner or later.

I to am looking to purchase a truck and the only place or better yet available truck(S) as it pertains to $$ (a recruiter informed me as a newbie keep it below $1000.00) seem to be at Ellenbaum.
with that being said does any one know a trust worthy mechanic in the dealers area? Not like I can drive the truck back to new england, unless they have a 30 day buy back program. Glad to hear of the good dealings with this dealer. Yes I have heard also they are from auction or from drivers that could not wait for a seller to come along as well as other dealers that do not want to carry that age of inventory.
oh I have been dealing with john ellenbaum via email and he his quick to respond to my inquires.
