Well i just got back into town from my first and last trip with Elite Expediting.Just thought i would share the experince with them, with the other members of this group. So where do i start, lets see.On 2-4 me and my co-driver are sent to there HDQ.in Windsor to pick up a load, only to find out my co-driver cannot go to Canada because of some past trouble.Well anyways we decided to try it,after the usual questions and our lying they let us in with a warning to have 2 pieces of I.D.on us next time,so we got to the HDQ.only to find out the load would not be there for 2 hours. Finally the guy shows up and we load and head back across the bridge, after the usual questions and ourlying we get back to the U.S.and we are on our way to Louisville.Get there unload and head up to Indy for layover.Get a load out of Indy heading to Laredo,Texas.Get to Laredo, unload and head to the local truckstop. While there i head over to the Sams club there to get some Fixodent for my dentures, only to find out that they don't have any in stock,it seems that someone on the dock has been stealing the Fixodent for some odd reason, they had lost over 3,500 tubes of it.The cops where called in on it but they have no idea why, unless the local drug lords down there have figured out a way to get HIGH on it.So i have a bowl of soup and some mashed potatoes for dinner.Spend the night then get a load up to Kansas City,Kn.now here is where the fun really starts. We unload, and are told by dispatch that there is a load in the morning going to Milwaukee,Wi.so we head over there only to find ouit they know nothing about it.Call dispatch it will now be there the next morning. So the next morning we go over there to find the doors open but nobody around, the place was empty and they forgot to lock the doors, now all of a sudden we have 3 cops there wanting to know why we are there,we did not know what we were picking up,no paper work or nothing. They thought we were stealing off the dock, well aftert getting the third degree from the cops, they let us go.Know dispatch tells us the load won't be there till Monday morning. So here we are sitting for 5 days at the Kearney truck stop in Kansas City,Mo.Now when we try to get some money they tell us we cant get any because something is screwed up in payroll.Well we managed to survive and finally got out of there on Mon.picked up the load and headed to Wi.got rid of it and made another pickup which took us to Oh.Took my co-driver to the airport so he could go home to Tampa,Fl.then i came home. This company seems to have the freight, but the front office doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing.

First of all, you played a very dangerous game in lying to both customs. I like to see ppl like that caught because you do us all a disservice. The other thing I believe is, part of business is getting over the quirks of the company you do business with. Yes, they have major quirks, but like you said they have the freight. I would take that over a company that is easy to get along with but has no freight. You should've never agreed to sit there 5 days to wait for a load, especially if their pay system was screwed up. If you let the company make your business decisions for you, you might as well drive a company truck. If you're getting the amount of freight you want, stay on with them. Good freight is a rare thing in Feb.

Hey T-Hawk; thanks for trying to be honest with Customs. That's the easiest way to avoid penalties, fines and worse. I'm afraid though, lying is way down the list of trucker sins at the borders. Smuggling is common and truck drivers are too often caught.

Drugs both ways.....
People into the States....
Guns into Canada....
Kiddie Porn on laptops into Canada.....
The list goes on and on.
Those things have nothing to do with the extra alerts for Homeland Security either.

I agree, If you have to lie to customs don't go there in the first place - waiting around for a ministers' pardon or whatever would probably teach you a lesson in right and wrong. Sounds to me like the freight is fine with the outfit but the business decision to sit for 5 days was a bad one. Next time at least see if they can sweeten the pot for your patience. It is not uncommon to have freight problems such as yours west of the mississippi - plan for it, carry some xtra cash for fuel and run like a rabbit for better freight lanes if you must. Or stay east.

you should consider yourself lucky.I once worked in operations for a carrier out of delta,oh called R&S services our first week running as an outside carrier with elite it seemed like we was in heaven nice long runs at 1.50 per mile with 3 trucks running we was supposed to have grossed over 15k for the first week.3 weeks latter when we was supposed to be paid for week 1 they made all kinds of excusses why we hadent been paid.by this time we 10 trucks running for them.we had to call all the drivers and told them not to deliver till we got paid.well brent come up for air when we told him are next step was to call nlm and tell them where they could pick up there freight.after a few hours of argueing and him calling my dispatchers homes telling the wives he was going to send someone to the house to beat them before thie husband could get back home and bunch of bullcrap he finaly agreeded to come over to detroit and pay
and we deliverd our loads.then when the driver got back to the terminal in delta we sat down and figured up our paperwork he had given the driver around 9,500.00 he short paid us over 5k cheated us on the miles qouted on pc miler and then went on vacation to mexico with his wife.when i called elite nobody else could straighten the mess out but him and he was on vacation so it would have to wait till next monday ok i said then payday rolled around again and this time the excuse was brent didnt leave enough money to cover all the double, and tripple broker loads they gave out and the lady asked me how much money i needed.I said I need whats due to me.so she calls back and said something about the paperwork she couldnt pay me on all of it cause it had my carrier name on it and not elite but she would pay me most of the money they owed us for that week and please just make sure the bols had elite on them from now on and i did.anyway monday rolled around again brents back to work and i call and hes like well il have to verify the pro numbers and rerun the miles and he would get back to me well no word that day tuesday i call and all i get is voicemail for the next 4 or 5 days then come to find out hes calling the drivers saying he would pay them direct if they would haul some freight for him.he talked one of them into doing it and what do you know the driver got to the broarder and i get a call from customs because this driver is there but elites bond is expired.i tell the lady i have no idea way my truck is at there boarder to begin with cause i dont haul candian freight but I would get ahold of elite and find out whats going on.so i get ahold of some night dispatcher there and he says just tell customs the load is for freight of all kinds and i say im not telling her anything but i would 3 way call him to her.I did and after some big speech about how if fak wants to let someone else use there bond there is supposed to be a letter in the truck stating so.anyway after the call they let the driver go on.he was an owner op so i just didnt load him anymore after that.

anyway to make this long story short I only have this to say about elite.
brents authority has been revoked twice he has been sued by carriers that can afford to do it and lost.the alliance is a great tool but some of the members will cheat you they double and tripple broker frieght off nlm and artisan.this guy uses several identities to screw you so be very careful.

This is Chris Mobley from CSM Trucking. I am not going to get into exact situations on Elite as I am still in the process of working through it. I can say that Charles from My Group LLC is not exactly the picture of perfect honesty either. I will also not get into that on this forum. If you would like to discuss it you know my number and email, it hasn't changed. It does involve Forrest and Louisiana, and I am not very happy about it.

My GOD what kind of a can of worms did i open up here?
Whitewolf53

Probably the right one. If companies or individuals are taking advantage of their drivers, then they should be exposed. If the above is true, these folks must be walking on egg shells. It is one thing to have some minor mistakes but if I had the above situation going on I would have them in court so fast their head would spin.
No excuse for that type of game playing.
