Drivers licensing requirements.

I would like to see what others think too.
Maybe I am one of the few who don't like the idea that someone who never have been in a truck before should just be able to get a license and get to work. This industry is made up of a lot of diverse skilled people who are safe operators but it is the small amount of people who screw it up for all of us. I and a lot of others don't care what happens to them but the people who are on the road with them, like me, my family and yours. We are not talking about a van or SUV but something that can cause a lot of damage.
Many of the "professionals" have the arrogance to claim it as a right to drive and get p*ssy about things that are forced on us to keep us all safe. While others are p*ss poor operators to begin with and become defensive over any issues that are brought up that may make it hard for them to justify their poor driving skills.
What would improve things?
Maybe increasing the number of questions on the test for first time testers - 40 maybe even 50 could be a good number.
Logging should also be included in both tests, there is no reason why someone shouldn't know this.
The road test should include a real pre-trip and post-trip - not just a walk around but a real pre-trip.
Training may be a real problem, many trainers don't correct behaviors that are bad, because they can't driver worth a d*mn to begin with.
