Double AA Sleeper

It pays to shop around when deciding on a custom built sleeper. Not mentioned in this thread are ARI, Double Eagle, and ICT. All of these companies are located in or near Shipshewana, Indiana, about one hour north of Fort Wayne. All make custom sleepers.

I know of one case where shopping around produced a $15,000 difference in sleeper prices, where the sleepers were comparably equipped, and the sleeper that cost $15,000 less was a full foot longer. The warranty on the longer but less expensive sleeper was stronger too. Again, it pays to shop around.

There are at least two members here on the Open Forum who own ARI sleepers. I am one. Streakn1 is the other. We bought ours new. They bought theirs used with a used tractor they bought. Both of us have high praise for the after-sale service ARI provides.

If you are getting ready to spend the serious money a custom sleeper purchase involves, it is a good use of your time to visit several manufacturers. Not only will you be able to compare prices and quality, you will probably pick up a design idea or two from one manufacturer that you want to have your manufacturer of choice build into your sleeper.

Larry is not gone, he is still working for awhile. he will be selling and marketing. we were there 3 wks. ago for some sleeper work. Had the water pump replaced and the sleeper skirt put back on. LARRY + ALEX !!!!!!!!! got me all fixed up and out the door, no $. I know they are planning on doing some new stuff. I have just always delt with him and have had no problems. My xantrex is 2 yrs. old an so far good to go, jinx jinx. have had pretty good luck with our sleeper. had some paint issues but they were warrantied and took care of. I would like to think that this was something that hopefully has been addressed, and wont be allowed . but we will see!! As far as the inverter any number of things could have went wrong, but i dont know that low quality is one of them. then again i could have the one in a million. hope not. thanks, TNT.

just thought that with a little more info we might be able to help depending on a little more info. not saying that we have anymore pull w/these people than anyone else, but do have a very close working relationship with larry and alex and the new owners. this situation did not sound rite to us and im sure it would not have sounded good to larry. he does still have a good bit of say so on things, but he has to know to have his say.
