Hello Everyone,

If your vehicle is "rated" at 30k GVW, but you register it at 25,500. Do your DOT compliances have to go by what the registration sais or by what the sticker inside the door of the vehicle sais?

Thanks

It goes by the sticker on the door. The registration weight is all about taxes paid, has nothing to do with the DOT.

What Turtle said........

But, what I'm wondering is what State allowed you to "Register" your 30K GVWR Vehicle for 25,500.

Most states will allow you to Register your Vehicle / Vehicles ABOVE your factory GVWR. I think this might be the first time I've heard of someone "Registering" their Vehicle BELOW the Factory GVWR.

I'n guessing you did this (25,500 Registration) so that you could drive it without a CDL, right? If you would have been caught driving that thing without at least a Class B........Well.........
