Don't buy I Renew

I would love to see the double blind studies on this product.
There are links to double blind studies at the link I posted above. They show Olympic and pro athletes who perform exactly the same with or without the bands. Of course, you'll never a an Olympic or pro athlete who gets paid to endorse these things participate in a double blind study.

The one thing these studies fail to show, however, is the only ionic band that really and truly honest to God actually works is the one band that is sold through MLM channels (Multi Level Marketing). It's a Pyramid Scheme, except of course it isn't a Pyramid Scheme because there's an actual product for sale. Calling it MLM is kind of like calling a truck driver a Freight Delivery Engineer.

These products, and the BionicBand in particular, claim to use "centuries old science" to get your cells, and the protons in the atoms that make up those cells, using Proton Alignment Resonance Technology (P.A.R.T.®) to allow all of your cells to “resonate” on the same frequency at once. Of course, if all of your cells resonated at the same frequency all at once you would explode in spectacular fashion, but let's dismiss that for now.

Here's the "science" behind all this, at least according to the marketing. First the fear, and then the solution to that fear:

We are consistently being bombarded with thousands of different frequencies which come from such things as cell phone towers, power lines, radio and TV stations, computers and their monitors, and just about anything that you plug into the wall. These frequencies cause the protons in your body to resonate (vibrate) and mimic all of those external frequencies.

That's the claim, that protons resonate and mimic all of those external frequencies. Except, of course, that doesn't happen at all. If it did, then that would mean these frequencies are somehow completely overriding the Strong Nuclear Force that binds the elementary particles (quarks) that make up the protons and neutrons in the atomic nucleus. The Strong Nuclear Force is one of the four basic forces in nature, the others being Gravity, the Electromagnetic Force, and the Weak Nuclear Force. Because protons have a positive charge, the Electromagnetic Force causes them to repel each other.

Every atom other than a hydrogen atom has more than one proton, and since protons are all positively charged and would repel each other, the only thing that enables atoms other than hydrogen to exist is the Strong Nuclear Force, which is 100 times stronger than the Electromagnetic Force. The Strong Nuclear Force is so strong that it requires nuclear fission, or the splitting of the atom (you know, like an atomic bomb or the Hadron Supercolider), to break the bonds. Protons do not resonate or vibrate at all, much less mimic a specific frequency.

The Strong Nuclear Force makes it physically impossible for them to resonate, unless they are being broken apart by nuclear fission. If they were to resonate, even a little bit, then the exchange of meson particles could not happen. Meson particles are exchanged between protons much like a ping pong ball between two players. If the protons were to resonate or vibrate, the mesons would not be bounced back. The atom would fall apart, or rather, explode violently.

We continue with the marketing "science" behind how all this works, with the absurdities emphasized, where we have the solution to your fears:

When the cells and protons in your body resonate at all of those thousands (and possibly even millions) of different frequencies, it causes you to become weaker and unbalanced. Think of each one of those protons as a tiny little gyroscope. [That one make me laugh out loud] When they resonate at different frequencies this causes them to spin in all different directions. [so did that one] This means that they are unbalanced and also fighting each other, which wastes a lot of energy. Balance is the first thing affected while wearing one of the many Bionic Band® family of products. When you wear our products a single frequency that over-rides all the other frequencies is introduced which makes your protons line up and work together as a team.

Again, if any of this were true, every BionicBand owner would have to be registered with the International Atomic Energy Commission as a licensed nuclear bomb.

Incidentally, "It's based on Einstein's Brownian motion theory, wherein the vibration frequency of a solid is transferred through a liquid (as earth through ocean)," is fundamentally incorrect. For one, Einstein used Brownian Motion as an illustration to directly confirm the existence of atoms and molecules through the Laws of Thermodynamics.

But the biggest one is that Brownian Motion doesn't describe the vibration frequency of a solid through a liquid, it describes the physical movement of a sold though a liquid. More specifically, it describes the random movement of physical particles, like pollen grains suspended in water or dust particles suspended in the air, and the mathematical models used to describe the random movements. It is also used to describe the random movements of the stock market.

It's the movement of a physical object from one place to another, and how there are different pressures from different numbers of atoms and molecules that interact with the particles that cause them to move in random directions. Brownian Motion has got nothing to do with anything within an individual molecule or atom. The motions within molecules and atoms (and living tissue cells) are handled with completely different laws of physics, none of which are affected by a wristband of any frequency.

Word is, though, that not only will these things correct your balance, but if you wear several of them they will reverse the effects of gravity so you can quit wearing a bra. There's also a mental image of a Viagra replacement that I won't delve into, but it works, it really works!

Yea but...these really work:

TRION:Z - IONIC GEAR FOR ACTIVE LIFESTYLES

And and this one will improve your golf game:

Callaway Ionetix Sport Necklace at Golfsmith.com

Testimonies say that you can feel a "Tingle" as soon as you put them on....I wonder if chris matthews had one around his "thigh" when he felt that "Tingle"....

:D:rolleyes:

HEY!!! I wonder if I wore one of these things, if i could really because "super driver" and get extra hours behind the wheel and not get tired or feel fatigued!?!?!? Huh, what do you think!?!? :)

PS: One of my kids gave me a giftcard for Bass Pro for Christmas, guess what I am buying tomorrow!!! :)

If you stick a Butter knife in a wall socket, you'll get a tingle.:p
What is a "I Renew"?.

If someone feels better wearing one (whether they work or it's a placebo effect) then knock yourself out.
Some people give money to churches every week too..

Come to think of it, the timing mark on the "harmonic balancer" on my old 1965 GTO 389 shifted when the balancer "spun" on the rubber mount and I had to replace it too!!!
