Donald Trump to run for President 2012??

What I am concern about is not the experience but the affiliation issue. A lot of former military generals and others end up in defense industry, not because they can provide an insight to say technology but because of their connections to the military which is used to shape military policy through the congress.

Let me ask you this.

Can you see any problems that someone like a pro-military president can have with our government as it is today?

Yep, see all your points. Yes there COULD be problems as you say. On the other hand. We have had a long string of presidents with NO IDEA about military matters and we KNOW that it is causing problems.

I would personally feel better serving under someone who had put his life on the line at one time. I would be leery of someone who did not but was willing to risk mine. Just how I feel. That feeling is doubled for cowards in chief.

After discussing trump last night, a few of us came to this conclusion;

He is an idiot.

He got his money not by being smart but being arrogant and having no ethics.

He is a person who prefers the spotlight and after two rock star presidents, we need someone who will take the job seriously.

If the republican party even considers him as a viable candidate, then the party is lost.

He really does not stand on anything and he compromises his principles too easily.

I was really surprised to see this thread was still going and not dead already. But, what really surprised me is that it took 19 posts for someone to point out the obvious.

Donald Trump will not run for a public office. Period. He would have to disclose his finances. As soon as the full public became aware of his multiple Bankruptcies he's finished.
