What I am concern about is not the experience but the affiliation issue. A lot of former military generals and others end up in defense industry, not because they can provide an insight to say technology but because of their connections to the military which is used to shape military policy through the congress.
Let me ask you this.
Can you see any problems that someone like a pro-military president can have with our government as it is today?
Yep, see all your points. Yes there COULD be problems as you say. On the other hand. We have had a long string of presidents with NO IDEA about military matters and we KNOW that it is causing problems.
I would personally feel better serving under someone who had put his life on the line at one time. I would be leery of someone who did not but was willing to risk mine. Just how I feel. That feeling is doubled for cowards in chief.
