It rubs you the wrong way because you gave a live, unedited interview and the next day are claiming your words were taken out of context, even though they came directly from you in context. You say knowing who the picture was from had 0.0 to do with your comment, yet you directly referred to who the picture was from. That's like saying, "Yeah, I was going 20 MPH over the speed limit, but that doesn't mean I was going 20 MPH over the speed limit."
I'm not telling you what you feel, I'm just going by what you actually WROTE.
Speaking of which, I'd be very interested to read any of your other comments posted under the gazillions of pictures of people and other animals using dogs as stools. Like, what did you tell Ellen DeGeneres when she posted her picture? What with you being a big animal activist, emphasis on activist, where you actively participate in protests or campaigns for big animals. Surely such an activist as yourself must have countless comments all across the Internet protesting dogs used as stools.
Well, the dog thinks it's OK.
Animals do it in the wild all the time.
People in families use other family members (and friends) as stools and stepping stones all the time.
Little kids have been using dogs as stools for nearly as long as dogs have been domesticated.
Dogs have been sitting on kids, cats and other dogs for nearly as long.
