I presume it's ok there since it's in use in numerous vans in the same location and is used by van upfitters who make van mini motorhomes. The tire carrier is attached to the door so it moves with the door. Nothing has to be swung out of the way to open the doors. The tire has an ugly but functional continental kit cover on it. No photos.

TJ: perhaps, if you spend enough to insulate the bejeebers out of the van, you could get by with a much less expensive FantasticFan?
I'd start there, anyway.

Cheri, a fantastic fan simply either draws or exausts air from a sleeper, not condition it, making it cool, like he is asking about.Besides, he has earlier posted he had a fantastic fan installed....

About 10 years ago I had the Coleman Roughneck 13,500btu replaced on top of my Bentz sleeper.I could hang beef in that 96" sleeper in Laredo at 120 degrees outside, no kidding. It was powered by a Powertech 7,500 watt generator powered by a Kubota D-905E 3cyl diesel engine. At the time, Camping World showed me where this was the only a/c unit rooftop mounted, that is carries a warranty for commercial vehicles, while the others did not.It was around $1,200 installed in the previous unit location.
