Do you have a truck stop addiction

Not so necessary in a CV, no, but there are some factors that affect whether a place is good for parking or not. (1) Cops--some will roust you, like I got rousted in NY a couple weeks ago; 2) whether somewhere is safe; 3) what facilities are available and their quality; 4) whether wifi is available; 5) if there's too much traffic there for you to get a nap; 6) if a private property owner will run you off; 7) if you're going to be there an extended period of time.

It's one thing to park at the Home Depot or the mall for the rest of a day, but if you might be there a couple days, then one starts to look for a shower, maybe a TV room, etc.

But if the area with the Home Depot is a better freight area, your chances of being there for a couple days might be greatly less than if you go to the truck stop with a bunch of other trucks.

Actually, our addiction is not to truckstops or any one truckstop in particular. Instead our addiction is to the sweet smell of burning aviation fuel and burning rubber from the tires of the A-320 Airbus loaded with passengers that landed hard and bounced a few times down the runway before settling down! No place like hang'n out at the end of the runway for the weekend!!!

In Germany, there were people that made a hobby out of plane watching. On weekends you could see them hanging out at the end of the runway at the Frankfurt airport recording the tail numbers of the airplanes. Kind of like bird watching. Since 9/11 etc, I don't know if they allow that now. It has been a while since I was over there. Jerry Lee

Good freight area or bad, it doesn't much matter if the Home Depot security or the police kick you off the lot at 1AM.

You deliver to a place Friday afternoon. It's a good freight area, but just the same, rarely does anything ship out of there over the weekend. Try spending 3 nights and the better part of 4 days at a Home Depot.

I spent 4 days at a Walmart just north of Orlando over 4th of July weekend, 'cause none of the truckstops are near the freight around there. But that's not something I'd want to do every weekend.
