I drove for DMW and they wanted to pay by % but we talked and they decided to pay me by the mile.

What do you drive? or what will you drive?

I went through the entire orientation at Express 1 and at the last minute and changed my mind, nice folks but not for me!

DMW is ran by a bunch of nice folks and I only have nice things to say about them, the only reason I left is because I've signed on with the carrier that I always wanted to be with.

It's tough choosing the right carrier and you're doing the best thing you can do! ASK--- ASK--- ASK and you'll get your answer, good luck to ya!

I highly recommend E1. I do this because of the people and the other support they are willing to give you if you work with them. If you need 2000 and more miles a week maybe E1 is not the place for you. If you can live on 1800 to 2000 a week and want to be treated very well, E1 is a great place.

Raceman, You said it right. Express-1 is a Great Carrier to work with. I have been with them since Feb, and God knows I have had my share of bad luck. Hitting a Deer, Truck Break downs, cell phone taking a dump. They were Right there to Help me out, and never once got upset with me. I can't say enough about the company. I know they are working on some new contracts to keep our wheels rolling. Right now I don't think any Carrier is making there drivers rich. It seems to be slow all over. "Thats Expediting". Drive Safely...Butch :D :D :D

I have to put in my 2 cents for DMW. I've been with them since the first of the year and have been very satisfied, especially with the dispatchers and the other people in their office. They are very fair-minded, and most have spent time behind the wheel so they understand what drivers go thru. They don't require qualcomm, don't haul hazmat, don't charge to put THEIR sign on YOUR truck and don't nitpick you to death on acceptance percentages and that type of stuff. They are great people to work for and I think there's a good future with this company, especially for drivers with straight trucks. Bottom line is, both of these companies are good outfits so be sure to talk extensively with them and good luck with whatever you decide.

I don't know anything about DMW but I ran for Express-1 for a while. I thought they were fine folks and very fair. The only reason I left them was miles. Much of this business is luck. (where you end up for the next load) My luck with Express-1 was very bad. Nothing ever seemed to click. They have many happy drivers getting good miles so I guess it's all a matter of how you fit. You could certainly do much worse than Express-1.
