*** Epitomizing the House Republicans’ pettiness: Meanwhile, House Republicans -- once again -- looked petty and disrespectful to a head of state who won his office by a convincing margin in 2008, even if they were right on the protocol front. Think back to Joe Wilson’s “You lie” screed, or to Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell refusing to agree to a White House meeting after the 2010 midterms. It adds to the appearance that, overall, congressional Republicans have one goal above all others: defeating the president no matter what.

Even if you dispise the person in office, established protocol should be upheld.

Yet joe wilson has been proven to be right:eek:Maybe Obama needs to learn a little about protocol:DI would rather have the president be called a liar on nantional tv then to have everyone just sit and clap and be part of the lie like good little sheep.

HMMM would one the protocols be the person that was elected to the office would honor the oath that they:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

You know like maybe actually following the Constitution...yea i know the oath says "to the best of my ability"..and as shown, his ability to follow the Constitution which would kinda be a "protocol" is not real good....

Oh and yea, Joe Wilson was right, barry was and is a liar....and while the "office" deserves respect, barry deserves none....he has shown that time and time again, maybe even right from the start when he made the comment, "I won"...to the republicans in a matter of, its my way because "I won.." Respect for barry, nope....

LOL, yea

PS: then we have this from barrys camp that "ignored" the protocol that you simply want to blame on the republicans..wait..its Bush's fault...

"It's unfortunate the White House ignored decades -- if not centuries -- of the protocol of working out a mutually agreeable date and time before making any public announcement,"

The real issue is what protocol is established where a president can tell the congress that he wants to address them?

There isn't any because they are equals.

You seem to think, like many others do that Obama is king and he has the right to call special sessions in congress for any purpose he sees fit, which the last time I looked the congress does not even have to allow him to speak.

The rules are clear, the president is and always will be an outsider and like FDR and Truman, Obama is limited to what the congress can say he can do while he is on their turf.

I think Obama needs to understand the basics of how it works and so do many people who make a big deal over the messiah making it look like he has something so important to say that he has to tie up another night of entertainment to say something that can be just published in a memo.

As pointed out, Joe Wilson was right. Obama was and is a liar but then everyone not under the influence of kookaid knew and knows that. Perhaps Joe Wilson was a little overly enthusiastic but he was right.

Oh, and Obama isn't the only liar and it has nothing to do with his being the 44th white president either. Racism is only an issue to the left.
