Anybody have either one, I'm looking to add that to my truck, any comments? I'm guessing you cant have the dish up while the vehicle is in motion?

1 other question off topic, I'm sure I should know this but are you allowed to tint your windows? My dad ask that question to me about a month ago, and ever since I've been looking at trucks and havent seen 1 yet that has been tinted.

appreciate it
all have a good 1

Both Satelite services are about the same.Thereare a few channels that one has that the other dosent.

Example Dish has the NASA channel while last time I checked Direct did not.

Dish in motion is available at about $2500. Too pricey for me. We got the crank up style at Camping World. Works great. Can get it fixed on the satellite in less than a minute. Cost about $250.00. They can also install it.

Laws on window tinting vary from state.

As Don mentioned, it's all a matter of how much you are willing to spend. If you will drop the coins it will work while in motion. I'm solo so that isn't an interest to me. Someday I want to get one that's good while stationary and has inside control for raising and aiming. Maybe the fat guy will get me one... if I'm not too busy getting stuff for the family.

This link should answer your question on tinting windows
<http://home.pcisys.net/~bpc/auto_law/tint/

You can move to Guam and have any degree of tinting on all windows your heart desires. Yukon Territory doesn't have any law(s) restricting tinting.

I wonder if Guam and or Yukon Territory are looking for expediters? Talk about two extremes.

A buddy of mine along with two other adventurers are currently trekking from Point Hope, Alaska to Wiseman, Alaska (600 miles) He’s got a satellite phone, I’ll call him to ask around if they need any expediters in Yukon Territory <http://www.ryanjordan.com/2006_arctic/2006/06/bear.html>.
If they do submit your resumes quickly as positions are limited.

Michigan's tinted window listing at that site is a little off.

There is a medical exemption that can be used if the owner of the vehicle receives a script from a doctor. I think that this also applies to commercial vehicles. The problem we have had is that some of the tinting companies have worked out deals with doctors to write scripts to 17 and 18 year old kids so they can get their windows tinted on thiet ghetto cruisers. The local polic can't do much and the state police seem to have given up.

Beside all of that I know that Commercial vehicles under the DOT rules are only allowed tinting to 30% (meaning 70% light transmission) for the front side windows and I ran into a few Michigan van owners who have tinting so dark I can't see in and one even has the silver reflecitve tinting.

I'm thinking about getting the lightest tint that has an anti-reflective coating to see if it will cut down the glare in the door glass at night. I don't know what truck makers leave out that car makers put in but there isn't terrible glare in the side windows in the car.

The Dr's note in Michigan should not of worked but it does. What you are suppose todo is get a doctors note then contact the Sec of State and then sends to lansing and they grant you permission to have dark tinted windows which is then put on your license and enables you to have dark tinted windows. Still they get away with it. I looked into it since i have some troubles driving at night with glare.

With regards to the roof satelite systems, the recommendation on the camping world ones is good on the mounted crank-up types. KVH makes one that we purchased with a high powered VHF/UHF antenna. Works well and has a automatic satelite finder. Sets up in a couple of minutes and your ready to go. As far as service, we had dish for two months and switched to direct. Dish was a disappointment.

I appreciate the offer but I was looking at my reflection in the window when I typed that.
