Utterly wrong:
Books (potentially) express, at a minimum, their respective author's realities, and in so much as the author's ability to convey and communicate will allow, the realities of those he is writing about, has interviewed, etc.

Again, wrong - because it assumes that those "living the passion" as you prefer to call it are as capable as observers and reporters, as the other (your premise is based on facts not in evidence - while it certainly has a higher likelihood of being correct as a consequence of direct experience, the result isn't guaranteed)
Further, here is another way it is incorrect:
A man kills another man - an innocent man - without any provocation, or justification whatsoever (it happens)
Another party observes it and then reports it.
Which is the more flawed ?
And which account do you think will be more accurate - that of the murderer - or that of an innocent, unbiased third-party ?

Don't think that our military is having problems due to inability, they are be handcuffed by the rules of engagement only.
Look, I don't really care what others think of my beliefs, most of this is opinion anyway. You have yours based on your experience, mine is based on mine. My life experience is different than most others. My other "profession" was different in nature than most others in here. I seen things from a different angle. Just the nature of the beast.
I try not to ridicule others on a personal level. I try, at least, to question ideas, concepts etc. I apologize if I did come across as personal. That is not what these forums are about.
I try not to question others intelligence. I try to only question experience and background.
I am not a stupid man. I may not have the writing skills that others have or even that I had at one time. I no longer use them as I did before. So be it. Bang away. Have fun.

The truly interesting thing is that while certain "law-and-order" or "government" types can and do recognize this type of behavior as criminal when it occurs on the part of individuals, they are often utterly oblivious, and totally blind, when it comes to such actions on the part governments or governmental agencies ..... and attempt to justify it through all manner of rather bizarre reasoning ....
It almost defies imagination .... I suspect that the reason that this is so is due entirely to one thing, and one thing only:
