[h=1]US Beef Producers Warn of Labeling Rule Repercussions[/h]

JOC Staff | Jun 11, 2013 11:41AM EDT

Following the Canadian government’s disapproval of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling program and subsequent release of a list of products for possible retaliatory tariffs, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association has slammed the labeling requirement.
“MCOOL is not market- or consumer-driven, and it does not fit within our international trading obligations,” said Scott George, president of the NCBA and a cattle and dairy producer in Cody, Wyo., in a written statement.
Canada’s list of products for possible retaliatory tariffs includes beef, pork and chicken, in addition to a wide range of grains fruits and dairy products.
“This list of products brings home the real-world consequences of the USDA’s adherence to MCOOL,” George continued. “Our members have warned both the USDA and members of Congress that should this program continue, there will be a true cost to not only cattle and pork producers, but to many other segments of the U.S. economy as well. This is too high a price to pay for a program that has proved it has no value.”

What do you expect? Competence in the government? This administration is about control. More crap to come, it will only get worse.

Sure wish there was someplace, with a LOT of fresh water, good fishing, good hunting and freedom to move too. There is no where left to go. :(

No they don't. They ALL lack freedom. Handguns are illegal. My favorite type of duck hunting is severely restricted. They all have some form of state health care. There is no where left to go, short of forming a new country, which ain't gonna happen.

your world doesn't exist.....anywhere....

I think I already said that. In fact, I KNOW I did. It is sad how few people value freedom. Just how many are willing to accept control for "security" only to find neither. Weak minded people are easily fooled.

Like I said, I have no where to go, short of forming a new country, and that won't happen. The world is infested with wimps who need cared for.

You crack me up! A half hour ago you were carrying on about what Al and Jesse "should" be doing and now your are carrying on (as usual) about how there is no freedom anywhere! Do Al and Jesse have the freedom to do and say what they want as long as it it is within the law? I don't think you truly care about real freedom. You only care about the freedoms you want!

You crack ME up! As always you IGNORE what I say! AL and Jesse can do, and say, what ever they want. The PROBLEM is that they, as most people these days, do not practice responsibility. It also cracks me up how you, almost always, try to make this a personal vendetta as opposed to a constructive debate. You don't know me in the slightest yet you make some really bogus assumptions.

I believe that EVERY right carries with it a grave responsibility.

Al, Jesse, Barry all demean the human nature. They preach class envy, sometimes hatred. They preach dependence. They often preach racism.

What they preach, while, legal, is damaging to the entire society. They weaken Man. They teach division and hope only to control. They destroy the spirit. When racism is taught, everyone again loses. It always reinforces the problems and keeps people in their place.

I would do the opposite. I would preach self reliance. I would strive to empower the spirit, to give control of the person back to the Man. Instead of class envy I would teach how to strive to succeed. I would put forth POSITIVE roll models, regardless of race.

EVERY able bodied and able minded person is capable of great things. The primary thing that holds people back is what they are taught. Mankind has almost endless capabilities. A LEADER would inspire people to seek their highest limits, if the had any.

We have NO leaders today.

Mankind should be allowed, encouraged to excel. AL, Barry, Jesse and the like should get the hell out of the way and let people live free of the swill they push.

It also amazes me just how many people are almost gleeful that a world that would allow Man to succeed, or fail, based solely on His own efforts, or lack of effort, no longer exists. How sad.

I did not at all ignore what you said, rather I pay close attention and once agian I have hit the nail on the head! Explain to me how I in any way am making this a personal vendetta? Believe me if I had a personal vendetta against you there is plenty of ammunition, shared in the past by you, which I could use to besmirch and belittle you. I choose not to. Once again you missed the entire point. You drone on about freedom. You pound on the Constitution like it is the Holy Bible, but when someone you don't agree with exercises their rights under the First Amendment of that same constitution, you accuse them of being Marxist, Racist, etc., etc.

I believe that EVERY right carries with it a grave responsibility.

Perhaps they feel they are reacting appropriately.

You preach intolerance. You just don't view it that way.

Like many All and Jessie may have started with good intentions. There is little doubt that these days it is more about shakedowns and the benjimans.

For others its about John Wayne.

Sent from my Fisher Price ABC-123.

Al and Jesse, never were leaders, in my opinion. They always blamed the affects of slavery for the problems that black people faced at the time.

The problem with that is it relieves the individual of the responsibility for their lives. It gives "excuses".

A leader would not teach that. A leader would teach, the hell with what happened in the past. It is YOUR responsibility to excel on your own. PROVE THEM WRONG. Don't believe that you are not capable. Don't believe you need "special treatment". Stand up, work, succeed on your own efforts.

Just a few weeks and hopefully we will be in that Field slamming em and making it a happy hunting ground. Dang its to hot to even think of it...

I likely won't get any of the early season in again this year. I don't enjoy it anyway. Too hot. Too many bugs. I will take a short time off for Pointe Mouillee and then more time for the real hunting season.

I still want to get you out on the Lake with us. We are working on a DU hunt. More to follow as we know more.
