The 1910 census featured 32 fields of information. They included name, sex, color or race, age, marital status, number of years married, number of children, place of birth, parents’ places of birth, citizenship status, language spoken, trade or profession, education, and home ownership status. That’s a lot more than the 2010 Census “Ten in Ten” questionnaire asks.

Imagine that..BEFORE we were even born....so much for an Obama census...

You mean you were not alive in 1910? Could have fooled me!! LOL!!! They did not have a requirement in 1910 that every residence have a GPS location attached to it. Yeah, I know, the GPS system did not exist yet, but, they did not have it!!

On Thursday, April 1, 2010, India began its Census.

2.5 million people have the daunting task of counting that country's billion-plus population. It is described by Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram, almost proudly, as "the biggest exercise... since humankind came into existence."

Armed with satellite maps of India's 608,786 cities, towns and villages, "Enumerators" will fan out over the country to begin houselisting, which records information on homes, such as the construction material used or the availability of electricity and water. Along with census details, a host of "personal attributes" will be recorded, such as declared nationality and marital status, and details on the proportion of bank account holders and cellphone users.

In addition to all of the above, Census officials will fingerprint and photograph every resident.

Holy crap.

Maybe that is what we will see here in 2020. Look for a national ID to come about under the guise of "health care reform"

Is not having a SS number not a type of National ID? Then you toss in a drivers license and most jobs now require a background check and fingerprinting....Big Brother knows all already.

Ok, so just give in? ZIEG HEIL!!! Just wait until you have to "show your papers" for a flu shot!! This is EXACTLY why SS just squeaked through Congress, to avoid this horror we have now. Those who fought it were right!! LIVE FREE OR DIE!!! Stick you medical ID card in your ear, OBAMA!!

Some in here that have as much disdain for this administration, President, Government, Government officials, youth, schools, media, the list goes on and on. Why not leave the country if it's so bad? I love the passion but when it spirals downward to the point of name calling, comparing people to Nazi's, conspiracy theories, questioning peoples patriotism, it doesn't do anything for your agument and it shows that some are nothing but bully's. Maybe you should try and stay off the internet blogs and write your congress men (without the spiteful, malicious, nasty verbage) in a dignified way and try and make a difference. Better yet, get involved with your local Government(if you already are not), run for local office, etc, etc. Coming in here and clogging up cyberspace with rhetoric just to try and force your opinions on others just seems to be a wast of time, but thats just my opinion.

No matter how old you are I know you can relate to this.... Some in here are just like the old guy in the neighborhood yelling out his screen door of his house, "Get off my lawn you ****' kids".

I am NOT the type to "cut and run". I BELIEVE that our Constitution is right and needs protected. I take an oath before God and Man, an oath where I asked God to help me, I take that seriously.

I truly believe that this health care bill is illegal under out Constitution. I truly believe that Obama is an enemy of our Constitution. Can you PROVE me wrong? Can you PROVE that using force in this case, under this bill, is allowed under our Constitution? Does this bill promote or hinder freedom?

My questions are very basic and very important. They must be answered and cannot just be dismissed.

Why is it when some choose to defend FREEDOM they are wacked out? What if we ARE right? Is this bill worth the lose of ANY freedom? What is worth losing freedoms for? Is there anything?

I NEVER blindly accept what I am told, no matter who tells me. I question everything. I run everything past my experience, what I have learned through history and what I have learned speaking to those who escaped countries like Russia, China etc. I see many things taking place here, now, that led to the horrors that exist in those place now.

I never said, "love America or leave it" why are you? I defended the Rights of American's to live as they choose, did you? Does this bill allow me do live as I choose? I think not. I have the right, under MY understanding of our Constitution, to speak out politically any time and any way I want. The ONLY restriction to that RIGHT is threats. I threaten no one. I only respond when I am threatened. I only respond when our Constitution is threatened, as my oath requires.

When you take an oath do YOU follow through with it or only when it is easy or you agree with it? Did you ever take that oath to protect and defend the Constitution?

There now was that so hard?

All except the part questioning my patriotism and making it personal:

Now we can have a civilized conversation. I share the same concerns as you my friend.

Sorry, I did not mean to make it personal. Sorry if I misunderstood, I THOUGHT you meant "love it or leave it" I miss-read, Sorry. I NEVER TRY to make things personal. Sometimes when typing and not in person things don't always comes out as it often should. I type fast. I am also very passionate about our Constitution and freedoms. I don't take anything lightly nor do I give in to rules just because they are pushed on me.

I believe that power in the Nation flows as follows: From God to the People to the States and finally to the Federal Government. That is how this Nation was set up. I believe that this bill violates that principle.

What's wrong with a national identity card? If usin new technologies it could incorporate all basic info such as blood type, health issues (only accessible by health care system), drivers lic and of course SS number would be the id number. Now if you have to be a citizen to get one then of course anyone who is not a citizen would have a different ID card. Those without an id card would be subject to further checks and possible detention or deportation. Those who are landed immigrants or legal workers (visa holders) could have another form of the id card (different color or such) which would ID status. These cards could have a swipe strip which would allow access to certain places (all recorded) so security would be much better and persons of interest could be tracked.
Since it would be mandatory to get a card then everyone would be in the system and have one issued at birth. Sure would make it easier to identify illegals. Now before you complain about this idea remember that every member of the armed forces are issued military id which is required to be carried at all times so this is not an infringement of personal rights.

It is infringing on our rights. We control the government in this country, not the other way around. The Federal Government has no need to "check my papers". I have no idea how the Canadian Constitution is written or how the powers are divided but under our system the flow is Down from the People, to the States and lastly to the Federal Government. Under our system the Federal government has NO rights, only responsibilities. All Rights are reserved to the State and most of all to the People.

The feds have no legal right to require a national ID.
