You're talking about a city that gave Kwami Kilpatrick two terms, and Coleman Young over 20 years. They - the city's inhabitants, the council, and usually the mayor, are idiots.

On second thought, the inhabitants are idiots, and the bureaucracy are thieves and idiots.

NYC "The city that never sleeps", LA "The city of angels", Detroit "The city of idiots".:D

I'll bet if they checked closer, some city concilmen's relative owns the leasing company! That's probably why they won't correct the problem.

I wonder if the TV station looked into it that far.

$608/mo. for a lease of an Intrepid? I find that hard to believe, even for Detroit.

The only thing I can think of is that they are taking the total $65,000 and dididing that up into monthly payments, but that's not good reporting if you ask me.

That total was AFTER the penalties and fees from over-mileage.

In the article they gave the breakdown that the payments were $608/month because they were only going to keep it a year. The total monthly payments are over $56k and almost another $10k for being over the miles. Never let the stupidity of the government surprise you.

Ah yes...check this out:

I just recently rode along with Jeff on a run from a Detroit suburb to Mesa, AZ. He was hauling one skid of pre-cut 2" x 4" and 2" x 6" boards.

When we arrived at the receiver, Jeff asked what this was for...

Government contract. The lumber was to be assembled into a custom pallet for the military.

So he hauled a pallet of pallet wood 2,100 miles...and considering who he runs for, you can imagine what it paid!

Plus, imagine all the bureaucracy that went into that load. What do you think it cost total? Maybe $7,000? $20,000?

They couldn't have gotten the lumber from, say, northern AZ? California? Colorado?

We just shook our heads on THAT one!

If you really want to get ****ed got to a Govt Salvage website and look how things are sold, New cable and wire that they over estimate for Ships or Etc, Costs 80.00 per foot, they sell 5 rolls of 250 feet each for 150.00 salvage, its new but its sat in some warehouse....Or Office machines, OMG, Every year theres a new election the new politicians get to order up furniture and Desks and Machines. I worked with a Moving company out of Nashville, who would buy this furniture thats Like new, for pennys on the dollar, and sell it to other Govt agencys for BRAND NEW RETAIL PRICES...

The Office of Budget and whoever what they do, is run by Monkeys !!!
