Desmond Tutu calls for Blair and Bush to be tried over Iraq

It had. They had been moving them since the end of the first Gulf War. The only things that they were not sure of is exactly how many had been moved or to where.

The general consensus was that they were moved into Syria. That may still be proven out. It was being reported on the news in the past month, although the reporting stopped within a day or so, that it was likely that the weapons in Syria where those that were in Iraq at one time.

Also the 500 metric tons of "yellow cake" that was SO widely reported on, as 'bad intell' was found AND removed by the U.S. Military. Search back posts on this and you will find the reporting on that find here. It was buried in the back pages of the papers. The news also did not report on how many warheads WERE found in Iraq. There were lots found. Most found were older Soviet made warheads, a few from China and some local production under Soviet license.

But you see thats what I don't understand!

If there were WMD, maybe not the large scale amount they were hoping for, why were they even brought up on the carpet at all!!, and what does Tutu hope to achieve if Blair and Bush already got this all sorted out??

I told you what the 'more to it' was. The governments of England AND the United States, KNEW they were there at the time of the first Gulf War. They COULD have, and should have, gone and got them out then. They did not. The world then did NOTHING for 14 years. SO, during that time they were used and moved, no one did a thing, and THEN covered their OWN sorry butts when things did not go as planned so THEY would not have to admit that THEY, the governments, are blithering idiots and 100% responsible for the mess.

Tutu is a Marxist. They will do ANYTHING to help get Obama elected. Obama ran on the 'lies' that "Bush" told. They were not lies. SO Tutu is now 'reminding' the voters here that they were.

No, that is not what I am saying. I am SAYING that one, they did not act then, and two, a "person" does not "get" Intel. You cannot go to the market and get "fresh Intel". HAD they acted when they were there the first time 10's of thousands of lives were lost for no reason. SO, blame someone else. It is VERY rare that a politician will say that THEY screwed up. 9 out of 10 times the problems are the fault of them.

The gathering of Intel takes the work of THOUSANDS of people and BILLIONS of dollars worth of equipment. Also, many have this strange idea that 'good Intel' means that a "bad guy" told it to us. THAT is RARE. Good 'Intel' may be a combination of a 10% code break, added to a fuzzy picture of a tire tracks, to a signal that cannot be read but it is known who was sending it.

Intel is a ART, not a science. It takes DECADES of work to follow targets. It is seldom exact. It is hard, boring, mind numbing work.

Yes actually I did know that collecting intel takes a lot of ppl from around the world and its not merely informants.

So ....

we know they didn't go in when the Intel was fresh, so .....

were they working on old info the last time they went in or did they have uptodate Intel that the WMD's were still there?

It was "fresh". The WERE there, fewer each day. They DID find some, about 225 warheads and shells, AND, the 500 metric tons of 'yellow cake'. They were, and are, ALWAYS working to keep intel fresh. The problem is there are not even close to enough toys or trained people to even attempt to get the job done.
