Deer Season, and another union holiday

So - did you know today is marked as Veteran's Day on the UAW holiday calendar?

Yep, it is also known as the start of the deer season....gee is that odd.

Either way its a day off for the UAW (or at least most of their membership.)

Nov 15th as far back as I can remeber was a day so many ppl blew the day off work that the plants had a hard time starting up and sometimes never got the lines running that day and I think someone came up with the idea it was just cheaper to close for that day or just run certain depts for the day.
When I was a auto worker it never was a sch day off but I dont think I ever worked or went to school on this day in my life untill I bought this truck.

growing up Nov 15th in Ohio was always opening day of rabbit hunting season, it wa father son bonding day at my house, i never went to school on that day and my dad never worked...

I really haven't been hunting in yrs, and while my kids all have been to the range while growing up, we didn't do much hunting other then a few Thanksgiving mornings when the boys were younger....
