Great!! You've done your research :D

I spent a good 2-3 years on the msg boards (there were other circumstances holding me up) before I jumped in. There were still a few twists and turns before I got lined out. Expect the need to make adjustments along the way. A good carrier will make all the difference in the world. For the first year at least, the reserve fund is KING. After that, it's still important, but you'll have a good feel for what it takes.

Congraulations! Good Luck!!

Congrats!!! I did has you did and took time to learn here on EO. The time and research were well spent, as i think i have done a pretty good job over the last almost 5 yrs. You are signing with a good growing company, one that is respected and is doing good things..I'd expect that you, after taking the time to research the industry, making the commitment to doing well for your family and seeing with a company that will work with you, you will do just fine...

Keep posting and asking questions and keep learning the business, and keep us up to date on where you are and how you are doing!!! Congrats

Good luck Sluggo! Please keep us up to date on your experiences, both good and bad. As a newbie your experiences will be more meaningful and accurate than those of a forgetful, grizzled, pallet licking veteran like HighwayStar or a moron vanner like myself. Have fun, make some money and don't like any pallets.

Just do a few simple things to make your experience better, Have Patience on the highway and off, dont jump to conclusions....Be diligent with paperwork and logs, SAVE EVERY RECIEPT, And ANY encounter with the DOT in weigh stations use your very best YES SIR, NO SIR.....Being Polite, yet Business like goes along way....and a simple thing like keeping your truck clean can go along way with the company, customers and DOT...Good Luck in your new career
