I just wanted to share with everyone a guy that has some good songs. He drove truck in his past and has some nice songs to listen to when driving down the road. I like the songs he has called " that one song" and "Fate said nevermind" I was hoping EO would get him to play at the Expo. Here is a link to his myspace page. Check it out if you want some nice mucic to listen too when your driving.

Music is decent.

Can't say much for the lyrics...not very uplifting and a little dark.

He has a great voice...my hope is that he would use it to glorify God.

It took Bob Dylan many years to come to that realization.

I pray John Prine will see the light too.

I actually liked it... yes, some darker stuff, but that's life.. been there done that, wrote about it :)...

Don't see the 'trucking music' part of it tho... maybe that's on a previous CD or something?

Thanks for the link, Bruno, I enjoyed the music.:)

PS Since Dan May reads the comments here, I'll be keeping an eye out for an "uplifting" song about the moral superiority of Christians over the "God hating weirdos with really stupid taglines" (AKA his fans)...
PPS I saw Bob Dylan in concert, and wanted my money back - I couldn't understand a word he was whining.

Yea Dale it is. I bought it and listened to it in the truck until my son swipe it. I haven't really heard his new CD that much. Dan is a very nice guy. As a Mod David I think your going a little over board on trying to push preaching about God on here. Some may take it the wrong way and try to go after EO for that. Not that I mind but some may.

Bruno,

Obviously, we all have beliefs and opinions.

Everyone has a right to share theirs.

The picture that offended me was a woman with Devil horns on her head and a tagline by Bill Maher. (Interestingly, that picture was removed on 11/13/2008 after my post)

I have watched the Bill Maher video and he is atheist that openly mocks God and Christians. In fact, he makes a mockery of all religious beliefs. He apologized for calling the Pope a Nazi.

I find it so revealing that homosexuals, atheists, physically abusive perpetrators, sexual deviants, communists, cultists, etc. can say anything they want without recourse, but God forbid a Christian voice their opinion and suddenly they are made out to be wrongdoers.

Seems like a double standard to me. Well, of course it is.

I said that Dan has a good voice.

Sure, I wasn't particually appreciative of his lyrics, but I also am no that fond of AC/DC either. It is a matter of personal choice. You know, Freedom of Speech.

Yes, many of the MySpace posts were offensive to me.

My error was in not making that a separate issue. I apolgize for that faux pas.

And my apology to Dan if he felt it was directed toward him.

In the final analysis, I expect to take some flack for my beliefs. If the playing field is level...why shouldn't everyone else?

The photo to which you refer was of a young woman in a devil costume - if you find that offensive, I pity the child who rings your bell on Halloween with the same (very popular) costume. No doubt it was removed because Halloween is history for this year, to be replaced by Thanksgiving. (Most MySpace devotees tend to be very up-to-the-minute with their avatars, if you hadn't noticed.)
A tagline by Bill Maher is what caused you to label her a "God hating idiot"? Do you truly think that people whose religious beliefs differ from yours are incapable of a single remark worth repeating? No atheist could say anything at all that you could agree with?

I have watched the Bill Maher video and he is atheist that openly mocks God and Christians. In fact, he makes a mockery of all religious beliefs. He apologized for calling the Pope a Nazi Bill Maher mocks religion, and politics, especially - it's what he does for a living. As long as we have freedom of speech, his point of view has as much validity as your own.

I find it so revealing that homosexuals, atheists, physically abusive perpetrators, sexual deviants, communists, cultists, etc. can say anything they want without recourse, but God forbid a Christian voice their opinion and suddenly they are made out to be wrongdoers.
Even if the preceding made sense (please look up the definition of the word 'recourse' - perhaps the word you wanted was 'recriminations'?) it would still be utter hogwash. There are many Christians on this site who voice their opinions with respect, and are treated with the same in return. Where you find examples of the first allegation, I have no idea at all - can you cite any such comments?

If the playing field were level, religion would be neither a litmus test for one's fitness as a decent human being, nor a weapon with which to bludgeon folks with different beliefs.

You are entitled to your opinions, but as usual, you chose to express your vehement dislike for my beliefs by changing the context. I never called anyone an idiot. I would suggest that you get your facts straight before you try to run the bus over someone.

The one post caught my attention, so I read through many others. I was quite taken back by pictures boarding on hard-core pornography, satanic symbols, vulgar and profane language. And yes, satanist's do not have any love for God. Hopefully, that does not come as any great revelation to you.

Moreover, a child showing up at my door will be greeted with a smile and words of kindness. The child is innocent and has no understanding of the intent regarding the holiday. We always give several pieces of candy and a Gospel tract enclosed inside of a ZipLoc bag. It is our hope that mom and dad will read the tract. I have yet to have anyone complain or indicate they were being bludgeoned by the Gospel.

Examples....several pastors have already been found guilty of "hate crimes" in Canada for teaching from the Bible what it says regarding homosexuality. Churches here in America have been advised by the Christain Law Association to ammend their church constitutions to avoid frivilous lawsuits from homosexuals who attempt to challenge the church's constitution regarding appropriate behavior during their worship services.

Homosexuals can come into a church, swap spit and fondle one another, but a pastor cannot preach about the sin of homosexuality as found in the first chapter of Romans? A sin that God calls an abomination.

Level field?

On both sides of the fence...believer and non-believer alike, there those who are militant. It is not all one-sided as you would like folks to believe.

I have stood on the street corner passing out Gospel tracts, saying nothing and simply offering them to those willing to accept them. For that, I have had them ripped from my hand, chewed up and spit in my face. I have been threatened with bodily harm for passing out Bibles. Conversely, the guy on the other corner passing out free passes to casino, or the Gentleman's Club, is not bothered by anyone.

Level field?

Not. And it doesn't bother me at all...I am just stating a fact. As a Christian I expect to be the recipient of personal attacks. Why? Simple: John 15:18, 19 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 15:20-22 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

This country was founded on religious principles. America has been blessed more so than any other nation because its foundation is based upon those principals. Interesting when you stop to consider that other places in this world have greater mineral wealth; more oil reserves; more natural resourses; optimal agricultural climates, soil and rainfall; better access to trade routes; etc. America's wealth, as the result of those blessings, has allowed it to send missionaries, Bibles, Sunday School Literature, Pastoral Supplies, Christian School Books, etc. more so than any other nation on this earth. God has used America as an advocate to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ which can save a person from a literal place of torment, pain, suffering and gnashing of teeth.

Far be it from a litmus test...it is a fact.

You say that you never called anyone a "God hating idiot(s)"? That is an outright bald faced LIE, and you know it, as does everyone who read the statements before you revised your post to omit them, citing "peace" as the reason for the revision.

The one post caught my attention, so I read through many others. I was quite taken back by pictures boarding on hard-core pornography, satanic symbols, vulgar and profane language. And yes, satanist's do not have any love for God. Hopefully, that does not come as any great revelation to you.
A member posted a link to what he considered good music, and you criticized the singer/songwriter for lyrics that are "dark and not very uplifting" and don't "glorify God". Had you stopped there, it would not have prompted a response (from me) as you are certainly entitled to express your opinion of the music. But you continued your comments with derogatory descriptions of the photos and comments of the singer's fans, as well, referring to them as "God hating idiots" with particular note of one whose tagline was a quote from Bill Maher.
Frankly, I considered such comments to be an embarrassment to the character of most EO members, who would NOT consider a person wearing a devil costume (for Halloween!) to be an indication of satanism, as you appeared to do. Furthermore, even those who disagree with most of Bill Maher's comments would not assume that nothing he says could possibly have any merit whatsoever, as you seem to imply. I'd like to think that most members are not quite that narrowminded.

You continue to confuse fact with your opinion, as follows:
As a Christian I expect to be the recipient of personal attacks. Why? Simple: John 15:18, 19 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
You are not attacked for your Christianity, but for your "militant" insistence on injecting your beliefs into subjects where they aren't warranted (like the music of Dan May), which begins to look like fanaticism - a mindset that scares me a great deal. But especially for your refusal to grant others who believe differently the same respect that you feel entitled to as a human being. Your practice of including tracts in the candy given to children on Halloween, and to passersby on street corners is an indication of your lack of respect for their intellect - do you think they aren't aware of Christianity unless you tell them about it?

This country was founded on religious principles. America has been blessed more so than any other nation because its foundation is based upon those principals. It isn't God who is sending Christian propaganda, it's people - another mischaracterization of "fact" on your part.
I do not attack your beliefs - but I will challenge your use of them to attack the moral character and right to believe differently of everyone else, each and every time you do so. And I will continue to point out the words you use incorrectly, because you have made a point of describing yourself as highly educated, but your writing has not backed that statement up, IMO. I do not claim to be highly educated myself, but I do not use words incorrectly, and I try my best to separate opinion from fact. If you can do likewise, you will have the peace you indicated you desire. If you continue to portray those whose religious and/or moral beliefs differ from your own as "God hating idiots" and moral degenerates, then I will continue to challenge your statements, because I believe that for evil to triumph, it is only necessary that good men say nothing. (A quote I'd attribute, if I knew who said it first).
Believe it or not, peace is what I would most like to see.

On reflection, I would appreciate some feedback here, from the silent majority: do y'all think I should just shut up already, or what?
(It wouldn't be easy, but I could do it. I think.)

No. As someone who trys to follow Gods word. I slip up and get mad and swear sometimes. I'm not perfect. But I don't try to push it at people either. God said your free to chose. He also said " let him who is without sin throw the 1st stone" We don't live in a prefect world and if you was upset by what you saw on Dan May's site then you may get upset on hearing the song " To Hell with the Devil " by Stryper too. Or the song by Michael W. Smith
" The is your time" about the girl from Collinbine who was shot in the head.

EO is not a site about God. It's a netral site and needs to be kept that way for its customers that pay to put their banners on it.

You need to listen to the song " Free" by Stryper
YouTube - Stryper - Free

Here are the links to the other songs too. " To Hell with the Devil"

" This is your time"
YouTube - Michael W Smith - This is your time

I understand David your just trying live your life by Gods word but this is not the place for it. The is a Business site. That why your a Mod so nobody post things that don't need to be on here.

Shut up? why? Continue? Why? I opened this thread to see about the music, having read the complete thread, I still haven't listened to the music.

No one is going to change anyones mind with these kind of post. If giving out religous tracts and handing them out on a street corner is to be considered wrong, I have a problem with that, since it was God that ordered us to "witness" in his name, and doing so in whatever why as long as not infringing, is fine as far as i am concerned.

I didn't read or even look at the myspace page, i have no use for myspace at all, so i don't go there, but i also don't see how ones postings can be taken as a eflection of the whole of the group my advertisers, just doesn't fit for me.

So as i said, i opened this thread for the music, and still haven't listened to it, since i live in toledo, and grew up in maumee and spent alot of my teenager yrs "making out" in the maumee theather and thinking i should go back to see it restored to its past glory, if i am in town on the date of the concert, maybe that will be enough reason for me to hear the music, and see a place that holds a few memories for me too.

Shut up? Why? Continue? Why?

I believe you can nominate someone only if the erasure, memory lapse and/or denial was to protect someone other than yourself, as the saintly Rosemary herself did, so you're going to be disappointed. Nice thought, though. ;)
