From what I've seen, all of the truckstops along that stretch of I-20 are the same. I won't stay anywhere near the area. The Pilot in Ft.Worth has always been my choice. The TA in Rockwall is good, although I have heard of problems there too. I have never tried it, but I'm told that there is a Love's on I-45 towards Houston that is not very far from I-20 but clean and safe?
I am in Corsicana TX just down 45....but I'll move maybe south to San Ant. or just up to Ennis Tx south of Dallas on 45....nice Walmart truck friendly and even TREES!! In Texas no less....E 241a
