3.73 definitely delivers better fuel economy.
Yep! Lower torque but I don't take max GVWR loads anyway so that is not an issue.
Moreover, I don't need to "jack rabbit" from a dead start so the lower torque is again of no concern.
Additonally, the engine will be turning lower RPM's which reduces the wear factor too!
I believe I spoke with a GM owner/operator that had a 3.56 differential.
And yes, the col is correct that 3.73 would be referred to as higher.
My bad, but I was thinking in strictly numeric terms (4.11 being "higher" numerically than 3.73)and not in ratio factors.
