What's a drone box?

He/she means a drom box, short for dromedary box.

Hi a drone box is a container that holds freight . Usually explosives. Or other things like detonators for explosives.

Other than a enclosed container, it can also be a drom deck. Which is a flat surface for freight with specific, legal height sides. These were somewhat common prior to deregulation that allowed for extra length vehicle combinations in some states. Tri-State out of Joplin, MO (are they still around?) is/was a perfect example of a post deregulation carrier using drom boxes for hauling explosives and other hazmat that needs to be segregated.

Just avoid AA sleepers out of Fort Worth,Texas. We have a 2 year old Freightliner Columbia with one of their 120 inch sleepers.Problems we have had are:Cracking in the fiberglass where the cab meets the sleeper.Several repairs wich were all bad work such as visable sanding marks, paint runs and more.
The paint on the side doors was done without primer causing the paint to peel. They addressed this by repainting them and they peeled all over again..once more no primer!
The wiring coming from the inverter and apu is all ran thru power strips and then into extension cords.I took mine to ARI and had them do them right..romax, and breaker box..you know the safe way.
Before this our last sleeper was an ARI and before that an ICT .I wish we would have used them for this truck as well. And the cost is close but the piece of mind is priceless !

Romex?

No body in their right mind should use a solid conductor wire in a mobile application.

I have not seen much in the way of proper wiring with any of these aftermarket sleepers.
