on a curtainside do you have to secure all loads just like you would a flatbed load? i know they haul van loads but i didn't know if they were secured the same as the flat bed loads or differently.

The Col would be the one to answer that. I'm guessing that since loads tend to shift, you'd have to strap them down.

Yeah, I'm sure it behaves more like a flatbed. I've actually thought about getting a curtain-side for my next truck. Either that, or a 3-4 part folding door on the side of the truck. Kind of like this one except for a bigger box:

thats where i get confused. so is the curtainside used mainly for he convience of not having to use tarps?

Think of it this way Jarhead.

It's like having a "double indemnity" policy..

Not only can you haul flatbed freight, in which if you look at load boards like I do all day, you'd realize the finacial gaines. But you can also haul van freight as well. Taking the best of both worlds and rolling into one...

Just be prepared to "pay" for the extra policy, because curtainsides aren't CHEAP..
