it has just dawned on me with all the good advice about getting a contract drawn up by a lawyer. i have not heard anybody say what it would cost to have attorney write one up. so what is the average cost to have attorney write-up a contract

It depends on how much you have them do and how much you negotiate with them. I mean if they are good, they will tell you "$500" with some advice, but if they are not so good, then it may be a case of Time and Material thing.

The last one I had done cost me $300 with support after the fact. This included a cheat sheet for the driver to read (summary of each clause) and a full explanation for me on each point we discussed.
