I'm sure you've been through this before but...

What is the difference beteween someone I can pay and issue a 1099 to and someone I need to pay taxes on throught the year?

I have one person that works "full time" for us and several firemen and troopers who drive when they can. The full time person is still free to take or pass on any load he wants. The only pusishment is no work now pay.

HI CHILDSAFE,

IF YOU READ BLUEBIRD'S ANSWER TO THE CORP VERSES SOLE PROPREITORSHIP YOU WILL SEE WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY IF YOU WERE TO GET A TAX ID#
YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RESPONIBILITY OF PAYING ANYONE ON A W-2, WEATHER FULL OR PART TIME. MAKE ALL OF YOUR DRIVERS INDEPENDANT CONTRACTORS,
THIS WAY YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THEIR, FEDERAL, SOCIAL SECURITY, & MEDICARE TAXES. AND STATE TAXES.

IF YOU MAKE THEM EMPLOYEES THEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO DO WHAT I SAID IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH. PLUS ADDITONAL ITEMS THAT I LISTED IN BLUEBIRDS REPLY FROM ME. EVEN THOUGH YOU DO NOT HAVE TO INCORPORATED AT ALL. YOU USE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY # AS YOUR ID. AND IT STILL WOULD BE A SOLE PROPERITOR

IF YOU PAY THEM AS A CONTRACTOR, THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE TAXES, NOT YOU.

YOU CAN CALL ME 10AM -3PM MONDAY THRU THURSDAY
AT (704) 739-4039
