I love to tinker around computers, heck I build my own desktops, and it seems that laptops and I don't really get along and something occured to me: with most new sleepers available with an option for x" LCD TV, why not use an LCD TV/Monitor and install a desktop computer in the sleeper. You could run all your fun stuff like movies, TV, if you like to play games like me...games. And also have it for your internet and business stuff. If we ever move to our own truck, this is something I'd like to try out b/c I've seen some of the sleeper designs and you could get a cabinet right underneath the TV/Monitor and put the computer there.
The challenges with the system would be securing the computer tower, finding optical drives that lock the disc down (a la laptops), I haven't seen many desktop type drives with that feature, although I have found a couple manufactured by pioneer that act like a CD player in a car, so that may be more preferable for this type of system. With a sufficient inverter and charging, power supply should not be a problem. Although, desktop parts have become more durable as time has gone on, still need a way to help buffer it from shocks...air ride for the computer.
Well that's my thoughts on this sort of thing, I think it'd be a fun project, and maybe someday I'll get to do it.
