Does anyone have an insurance company that they are happy with?
We were recently the victims of a hit and run and are now finding out that things told to us by our agent are not 100% true.
Including this statement.
"The policy includes $175 per day up to $5250 Downtime coverage if you vehicle is in an accident and can't be operated."
Now we are told that there is some clause in the policy that says it has to be in the shop 7 days in a row.
Any good reputable companies and agents out there?

I agree. The people at CIS are great to work with. We have three trucks insured with them.

We have also just moved over to CIS. The savings was amazing over our present insurance. We did not chose to get the down time coverage. I was impressed with Shelly and John's educated questions and their ability to deal with us on the road and email us the information we needed.

We have not tested the insurance and hope we never have to.

I believe this is an issue of not fully reading and understanding their insurance policy. Have I read my insurance policy? NO
I do not believe they lied to you or mislead you but that is something only you and CIS knows
If it is true that they lied to you then I think we all need to know about it.
Up until the truth comes out I will say CIS has been great so far and have and will recommend them.

True, we did not read our policy, we relied on the information sent to us in an email from CIS.
The statement,
"The policy includes $175 per day up to $5250 Downtime coverage if your vehicle is in an accident and can't be operated."
appears in the email they sent us and on our certificate of insurance.
No where does it state that the truck has to be in the shop for 7 consecutive days. Except now that we need it, it is supposedly somewhere in the fine print of our policy.
If anyone would like to read the email that was sent to us please send a PM with your email address and I will gladly forward it to you.
I don't feel I was lied to, I just feel an important sentence was omitted. Had I been informed of this requirement I may have decided against this policy. At the very least I would have known what to expect.

Hopefully this is an issue that CIS will fix in future e-mails to customers...sorry for your issues:( I know it won't help you but maybe in the future CIS will let people know of this 7 day delay in before payment starts

I did find the waiting period clause in the policy. My bad for not having read it from start to finish.
I just wish that CIS had mentioned it in there correspondence with me. It may have changed my decision on purchasing this policy.
So far Progressive has been handling my claim adequately.
The truck is out of the shop for the mechanical damage. We had a bent tie rod and a cracked A/C condensor. Also 4 studs on the right front wheel were bent.
We will have the body damage repaired at our local shop when we get home.
Our adjuster approved having the work done in 2 places as the truck is now safely drivable and we are back in service.

Seems that most work could be done before the 7 days unless there is a problem getting parts like TJP's Sprinter ordeal
I'm not sure I'd be getting that insurance or be happy with that policy. Good to hear you are back on the road.:)
Too bad the police couldn't locate the truck that did the damage

I been at this game a long time, Carl is as honest as they come and a straight shooter! Great rates, and he is always making sure you're covered and looking out for his customers. He works with a lot of expedite companies. Progressive can be a pain but he has a great relationship with them.

I received a phone call from John Benisch of Commercial Insurance Soloutions this morning.
He is contacting Progressive to see what is going on with this 7 day waiting period.
I'll update when he contacts me again with the results.
