Great news for waterfowl hunters, duck numbers are UP again this year, WAY UP over last year in some cases. The two that fire up us layout hunters are the bluebills, (lesser and greater scaup), and canvasbacks. Bluebills have be declining fast over the last several years for reasons unknown. Last year they had a 8% increase in numbers and this year a 12% increase!! That puts them 18% BELOW long term average but considering that 4 years ago they were 45% below it is MAGIC!! Canvasback are up 35% over last year and on par for long term average. RedHeads are at last years numbers and remain at 62% OVER long term average!! Looks like us "Layout" gunners are in for a bit of fun this season!! :D

Still gotta watch out and leave the females alone as much as possible if we want the numbers to keep going up,,,It happens tho
Seems every time someone ends up nailing one by accident:(

You guys in the layout boat,,,,Is it more of pass shooting or are ya actuallying decoying em in???
Every time we get into a group of diver ducks it seems like its mostly pass shooting then like the puddle ducks which seem to decoy better
