Many states, including Michigan, are restricting where the EBT cards can be used. Michigan allows EBT cards to be used at ATM's to get cash. Allowing this could lead to public funds being used to purchase items, legal or other wise, that those funds were not intended for. There is no doubt that there is a need to restrict the use of public funds and, with any luck, CO will be able to get that bill through.

Only the cash part of their assistance can be used at an A.T.M. The food part can not. The bridge cards are not just food anymore, the electronic age has arrived for those on public assistance they receive their assistance for food and money charged onto their card.

Here is a whole nother topic for Mr. Monger.

F.W.I.W. Mr. Monger's stance here on snopes is reeeeeediculous. If the site is biased then show it.

Did anyone read this article - and if so, did you happen to notice the victim mentioned as an example? (emphasis mine)
One of the those victims was 29-year-old Jesse Bruce Pinkman, a former methamphetamine dealer from Albuquerque who had recently moved to Boulder to establish a legal marijuana dispensary.
Anybody recognize this guy?? And to think, the Breaking Bad marathon just finished a few days ago.

"We are seeing cardiac arrests, hypospadias, acquired trimethylaminuriaand multiple organ failures. By next week the death toll could go as high as 200, maybe 300. Someone needs to step in and stop this madness. My god, why did we legalize marijuana? What were we thinking?"

LOL

Hypospadias is a genetic birth defect in males where the urinary meatus (the pee hole) is abnormally placed, instead of at the tip it is anywhere along the length of the penis.

trimethylaminuriais a rather rare metabolic disorder that is almost exclusive to women. Certain enzyme production gets out of whack causing what is known as Fish Odor Syndrome - you smell like tuna fish.

Yeah, because obviously I should have known so many years ago that you & RLent would want me to provide examples on a message board that didn't yet exist, so I should have saved them, transferring the data to every new computer I've had since then...obviously.

The difference between you and RLent asking for examples from back then is that RLent frequently makes sense.

Your word is not enough to convince me, because your statement, and your lack of any substantiation for it, goes directly to your own credibility.
I don't make any attempt to convince you. I don't care whether or not you're convinced. If you remain unconvinced, I'll probably gain 20 minutes of sleep over it.

Had you and RLent been reasonable, this thread would have gone like this:

· AMonger: Hey, check out this article about welfare being used to buy pot in Colorado.

· RLent: That's false. Check out this Snopes article.

· AM: Snopes sucks. They're biased.

· RL/Turtle: Huh?

· AM: Yeah. I read a few of their early articles years ago. They were so biased, I stopped reading them.

· RL/Turtle: Got examples?

· AM: No, it was far too long ago for me to remember the details.

· RL/Turtle: Well, then, we're unconvinced. You do realize that was a spoof site, right?

· AM: Really? Hey, sure enough.

Instead, we've tortured zillions of electrons. I'm sure they appreciate it.

Well reading is fundamental (RIF) and reading comprehension is right up there with the ability to analyze text and make determinations based on facts rather than feelwings.

Sox drool!
