Coast to coast am

I listen to a wide variety of things, changing it up depending on mood, whether I'm tired or not, and the amount of traffic, etc.

I listen to a lot of radio and have a POI list added to my Garmin of fav radio stations around the country, including a growing list of community and college stations, 50,000watt AM stations, and NPR for the weekend quiz shows and BBC and market news.

For longer runs I often listen to audio books on everything from Civil War history, to writing, to traditional westerns, contemporary novels, and commentary. I also have an extensive iPod music library and regularly rotate and update that when home.

Even with all I have at hand to listen to, I often don't have anything going, and at other times often turn it down or off to check out the odd sound or vibration.

Driver I also listen to Coast to Coast. I wish I had listened to some of their guest when they predicted the stock market collapse a few years ago. They named names of some of the big companies that would falter. Our governent said they did not see it coming, should have listened to C2C.

For a while, XM had a great day lineup. Could listen to Mike McConnell & Glenn Beck back-to-back, music for a couple hours, then Dr. Laura. Loved that until they screwed that up.

I think I would go nuts with out my SiriusXM Radio. Trying to find the next coast to coast station as you pass through cities can be a fun game, but got pretty frustrating. Since getting it I love the NFL talk shows, general talk radio, Stern, Sports game broadcasts and 80's on 8.

I like Jay Monday to Thursday but hate his Friday show on 101.

Mike and Mike 6-9am then Dan Patrick 9-12 then Dave Ramsey 12-3pm then mostly Sixx Sense unless the Tigers, Lions, or Wings are playing. All most all music on the weekends. Can not figure out how we survived before the XM. As for the OP, to be honest I can't stand C2C.

I used to like Dave Ramsey, until I learned he's investing counter to his own advice. He advises his listeners to do one thing, and his investments do better while you do worse if you follow his advice.
C2C used to be fantastic when Art Bell ran it. Art Bell could be the best radio ringmaster of all time. I remember driving over Monteagle one night when someone called in to say they were flying a small plane into Area 51 to see what was there. It was a hoax, but man, what a show.

Common sense would be a millionaire would invest differently than his typical listener.
Different risks,different goals.

Hmmmm get out of debt, stay out of debt, invest in proven growth mutual funds. How is this bad advice? He does get a little "preachy" sometimes, but being the open minded person that I am I try to learn from everything. You have to respect a guy who was a millionaire, lost it all, then earned it back.

As for C2C I have listened maybe a dozen times and when they talk for hours about Chem trails or Ogopogo or alien abductions is just not my cup of tea.

No, he's advising people who rely in his advice to do what makes HIM money, like a baseball manager betting on his team to lose. Warren Buffet does the same.

I don't follow your logic on Dave.
Isn't the first thing I wouldn't be able to figure your logic on something.
Since Dave Ramsey isn't the topic I guess it's time to move on.

I never felt compelled to listen to C2C over a few minutes at a time.

C2C is easier to take when one remembers to take it as comedy. Once in a VERY GREAT while they will run a show that is factual and spot on.

I don't see how Dave Ramsey telling people to get out of debt and buy mutual funds is bad advice.

As for radio shows. My XM nights go like this, 4pm Niel Cavuto on fox, then its Audible books till 7, then Larry Kudlowe, then Bill Oreilly, then "FreeTALK Live", then Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis, or "Greta VanSustern" , followed by COast to Coast.

If any of those shows prove boring I pop in an Audible Book.

Here's the article on Ramsey:

http://www.garynorth.com/public/8447.cfm

The writer's major beefs are that Ramsey doesn't like gold, used debt & debt relief laws to his benefit while criticizing them to others, and generally offers advice he's not qualified to offer. Farther down the page, he tells how Ramsey tells listeners they should sell their gold to someone with whom he has some sort of relationship, someone who's going to do with it was he's telling his listeners can't be done--profiting from it.

Warren Buffet runs a similar scam. He lobbies Congress to keep and even increase the death tax. This means that many families will have to liquidate the estate to pay the taxes due, unless they buy insurance that covers that. Guess who just happens to sell that insurance...
