We run with a 60/40 split. the lead driver gets60% and pays for his fuel, gets all the extras (FSC EM DH L/O ect.) and pays his co-driver .25cpm on all loaded miles. Any Panther driver knows the D/H and E/M pay doesnt cover the fuel so we are not gonna tell the Lead he has to split this with the Co-Driver. Deadhead miles driven are easy. Sit where you are and dont make money or invest some drive time and get where the loads are. I was a Co-Driver when I first got started and understood this and drove to frieght areas without complaint. As an owner I try to explain this upfront. As for handload/unload If you do the work you get paid. If one of them stays in the sleeper while the other does the work why would you split it. Bonuses are split. Under similar arrangements I think .25cpm is fair. I did it and worked into Lead Driver and now an Owner. If it isn't broke, why fix it?
