Just wanted to see what products you guys use on your trucks fiberglass and metal white painted finishes.

I like to use Mothers cleaner and wax.I have seen some Trucker wax/cleaner in Flying J,comes in a 16 or 18 oz gray bottle.I just saw the same bottle at Big Lots for $6.99.Don't use something real cheap,though.Stop by a detail place,to see what they recommend.I'm to the point where I am tired of waxing,so I just take it to a detail place.Must be old age creeping in.

There is a place for most of God's creatures,right next to the taters and gravy !

Maguires makes a product called Final Inspection that I use between washes and waxes. Its a spray on, wipe off wax. Easy to use.

I went to Big Lots and saw that wax/polish,it's called Long Haul.Big Lots sells it for $ 5.00,for a 24 oz bottle.There are some good ones at Walmart,like Eagle One.Walmart has Mothers.Check Auto Zone,and other auto parts places also.

Duragloss at Napa Stores. Makes my truck look great, makes my 69 Firebird, Convertable take first in any show.

Hot Freight, to do the tanks and all metal is well over $400 if in poor condition, more expensive if really bad less if newer alum. To wash polish and detail the rest of a truck add $600.

I detail vehicles when I go home for a week or more, including engine compartment, wheelwells (paint inside) detail trunk and all metal where dirt hangs out in drip rails, door moldings, glass, clay bar paint, polish paint, shampoo carpets and seats, wash leather seats, clean seatbelt harness, and dash insturments I get $150 for a medium size vehicle and $200 for SUV and large PU, have a dog add $60. kids also I charge extra.

This also includes acid cleaning some of these fancy rims out on the market today as acid is the only thing that will take off two years of brake dust. People actually forget how nice the rims use to look until they pu the cars up.

I do this for as much as the $ as much as I just enjoy doing it.

AutoZone and get Mothers for your shinny items. I use and a very expensive wax in a a pale green bottle. I will have to look at name but Autozone has it. They also have a product in a silver and blue tin can/bottle called TR-3. It is a resin product but what I like about it is that it restores your finish so quickly and easily. A hand held buff pad is used to rub, really it is as easy as wipping on, no hard rubbing or buffing and it takes of all the crap on a painyed surface. The with a old Tshirt type rag you can buff it to a real high gloss shine. It then protects almost like a plastice coating.

I do all my own detailing but I have all the tools and the weekends free. I know that while expediting that is not always possible

What ever wax you use,as soon as you run thru the blue beacon,it's going to need redone
As the Dupont man told me,at a truck show years ago,unless I just like the exercise,the Imron paint used on most tractors is harder than the wax being used to wax my truck,of course you b c and most d's dont have Imron paint
What I use on my show car is Meguires,its the best and easiest I've found,and over the years, I've used a lot of different waxes.
There are a couple waxes out.liquid,that go on and wipe off really easy,I've used them on my truck.most liquid polishes are mixed with mineral spirits,the more liquid,easier to wax,but draws dust really bad.
When I was a kid,going to cruise the friday night saturday night drive ins,you would put kerosene in the wash water,car would shine like you just waxed it

Any wax or polish and Duraglass is only a polish, will only last for thrity days or so. At first I did not belive this. On my Firebird which is kept under cover I polished it again after a couple of weeks. There was really a difference no wax will hold its shine to paint over time so about a month is it.

Now the car will still bead like crazy but the shine improves again as soon as I waxed it. It is also a myth that waxing a car three or four times will build it up and make it stronger, its only a myth once maybee twice if it needs it but to keep doing it over and over does nothing.
