as in earlier replies - specing the engine/trans/rear end ratio is all important. the class 8 will definitely hold value better. it also will last twice as long. i have a pete 330 now that only gets 8-9 mpg but that is due to the rear end ratio being too low @ 4.something. it turns 2000+ rpm @ 70 mph. that should be around 1900 w/3126b. as to the amsoil question - i have been using it in my pete since new. @ $4 per qt. you can't use it in an engine that uses oil. the main reason i have been using it wasn't to prolong the oilchange cycles but to start in winter as i cannot plug in. i have ALWAYS started no matter how cold (as low as -10). i also have the amsoil bypass oil filter system. i have changed oil twice per year (april & october) but change the three filters every 10-12k. i have to add 7-8 qts of oil when i change the filters. the first oil filter change i do @ 15k and @ 10k after that. when you change ALL the oil you should let it drain a long time so you get all the old oil out. it helps to have truck on an incline towards the drain plug. unless there is a need for the cold weather starting w/o plugging in i don't think it is worth the extra cost of the oil & filters. on my new pete i am specing a spinnerII instead of the bypass oil filters. it is supposed to get out more soot. the mbe900 engine comes with a centrfuge on it. so......if you get a fl or sterling with the mbe you don,t need anything alse. remember - specing the truck makes ALL the difference. any make can do well if speced right. however, the pete or kw will definitely be worth a whole lot more down the road. just go to truckpaper.com and look at the values of a 2000/2001 ihc or fl w/500k on it compared to a pete 387 or kw t-2000 or even a kw t-800. 10-20 k $ diff. good luck specing your truck. if you want input - e-mail me.

The engine was a Mercedes (I think a 350) with a 10 speed
Nice truck but expensive at a base of $122,000
That was the price of the pictured truck.
Sleeper is made by bentz
I believe these were prototypes.
Ordered trucks are available in August according to Jeff Jones at the MATS show.

Here's the link previously posted to the specs on that truck, originally posted by LDB (Thanks!)

By the way, that's a 100" fully integrated sleeper. According to their site, it's the largest production integrated sleeper availible, and the first of it's kind.

Hey, my wife and I are newbies and are already looking forward to trading/selling our starter truck, a 2000 fl70. Was wondering what the cargo box was on this truck? Thanks!

Ok i can throw my 2c worth in here, i am like all the rest class 8 all the way had a fl/70-3126/250 cat-eaton 6spd autoshift trk ran great but we were constantly working it to death. Our new m-2/112 class 8 trk is 435 horse 12.7L mercedes-6spd allison auto 4000 series mated to 3.42 rears truck will pull any hill we put in front of it cruises effortlessly down the road. this trk turns 1200@60 mph and 1425@75 mph with all engine run time figured in [idling and driving] we are getting an avg of 8.7-10 mpg and the fl/70 got 9-10 so i dont feel real bad about the fuel mileage as for price diff. i know the same truck in 106 form same slpr. smaller engine cat or mercedes 3000 series allison is selling for 105-108,000 and mine was 115,000 so a little more cost but i have a trk w/more warranty and will run longer than the smaller ones with less repair so i say class 7 was ok when this first started but they should fall way of the class 8 for expediting.:7
