"I was talking about the irony of the church having executed people for not believing in certain things, turning thoughts into crimes and branding people as heretics. The irony is that they can dish it out, but they can't take it."
It is ironic. Then again, all those who partook in that are long dead and today's "Church" no longer does.
It is in someways similar to the Muslim faith of today. Many would condemn the 'idea' of the religion to the extreme of the few.
Man has always perverted things that He touches. Then Man often recovers. Excesses come and go. The premise that a religion is based on can be pure and still have Man sin in it's name.
