I have a team that realizes when the wheels turn they are making money and when the wheels are stationary they aren't making anything. They run at about 90% acceptance. They take the 126 mile and 211 mile runs along with the high mileage runs. Instead of waiting on the high mileage run at zero income they make some money. When they deliver the piddly run they usually don't wait long on the next one and often have another job set up and on the qc waiting for them to deliver the current one. Their truck runs anywhere from 2500-4000 loaded miles a week.
I'm not saying take runs and I'm not saying decline runs. I'm just pointing out what my team has found, some miles are better than no miles and short runs are better than no runs. YMMV.
