Air Brake Locks cost $50 and up. Here`s how a cheap padlock can do the same thing.

What about spinning the knob off and pushing the actuall button in, that will let you remove the lock.

My Knob wont spin off. Lock won`t let you get at the set screw.
(now some one will probably say, use a puller to defeat it. If they have the foresight to carry one, go for it)

If someone wants it bad enough, they'll get it. But, that lock would be enough to stop some thieves, anyway. Advantage: Since you've got the key, you can apply and remove the lock quickly. The thief has to fiddle with it, and he may already be low on time to be messing with this.

Did a delivery today. Consignee did not have a bolt cutter to remove two bolt seals so we improvised. The dock personel sd he doesn't know why they didn't just let me use my padlock instead. I don't think he gets the concept of a numbered seal, duh......

I have had them fall off in my hand. The set screw is worthless or the plastic around the valve shaft cracks. A claw hammer, which was probably used to break the window to gain entry or a large screwdriver will easily pop the plastic brake knob off the shaft. In fact the lock will provide extra purchase and become a fulcrum for the hammer or screwdriver. It just seems to me that the lock is more of a hassle to you and an aid to the bad guy.

my knob just unscrews, better to just shut off power to the truck with battery main switch hidden in the frame rails

Or under the dash or some place else in the cab that is somewhat convenient and out of sight.
