Cell Phones

Do folks feel it necessary to have more than one phone using the second to increase coverage (with another company) or as backup?

J O I think you need 4 or 5, just to cover all your load offers. Are you back or still kickin back in Jersey. Everything up in air on my end, stay tune for breaking news...:)

I only use one - I am with AT&T and have had very few coverage 'holes' and would suggest to anyone to check them out. Is two needed? Well at least not in my case.

I don't think it is really necessary for two. I have two but one is the companies (one I'm contracted with)and the other is mine.

The one for myself has the best coverage I could find at the time when I signed up with a cellular carrier. Now I do own about 6 cell phones but they are with the same service. Give one each member of family etc (only 4 of us) and have spare batteries galore. I find the spare batteries is great and when I dropped my phone and it got run over, I just called home and had one of the spares turned on and off I went. Same batteries and accessories.

That's me. Rob Fis

I have 2 phones,Alltel with the circle of friends, for business, you can put me on hold all day, doesnt effect my anytime mins. Also have Sprint, most my friends are on Sprint, and I use for text messages from fed ex,as i have 800 free text messages.between both phones,I spend 150 bucks a month, and usally use about 6000 total mins.there are occasions where 1 phone gets better coverage than the other,so helps I never miss a call. Both phones are blue tooth capable, and the Parrot head set works on both.

When I ran team we had 2 phones, one with Cingular and one with Verizon. I found Cingular to have better coverage.

Well due so some circumstance beyond our control we have three cell phones! Our first cell phone and one daughter decided on Sprint and we went that direction and have had that many years. Then oldest daughter gets Verizon so is cheaper to talk company to company then pay the fees! We get Verizon and also find many of our friends also have the Verizon phone. Then youngest daughter changes to Cingular so yep we get that one! All three phones work in different places and could not recommend one above the other. All have about the same plans and we have the minimum plan for nationwide coverage on each. If we had to give one up that would be a very hard choice. It does seem as the least people use Sprint though.

I've got t-mobile that I've had a long time and sprint I got along with my aircard. Having their phone gets $20 month off the aircard bill and also gives me coverage in places I wouldn't have it otherwise. Some of my friends have sprint and we get unlimited mobile to mobile minutes to talk together.

We have 2 phones, Sprint that we've had a long time along with the aircard and Verizon. We like Sprint's aircard better, but Verizon seems to have better coverage in the sticks.

Yes, unfortunately they are rather expensive.

But, it gives me the 'warm fuzzies' to know I can link up with the outside world when in remote areas where cell phone coverage is at best spotty and at worse non-existent.

Last time we used it for an emergency was last winter when we ran across a fellow in the ditch. He had a cell phone, but there was no coverage. He had been there for two hours before we rolled along and was nervous and cold. We called for assistance and invited him into the sleeper to warm up, have a hot meal and cup of coffee while waiting.

As it turns out this fellow is now one of our customers. :)
