You know one major problem I'm having with companies putting 4000 lbs on vans? It's getting harder to get a decent rate for anything that heavy. I tried bidding one today for a straight truck and the broker told me what the low bid was for the load and it was quite obvious it was someone intending on putting that on a van. I don't like the idea of making vans scale, but there are times it almost seems like a good idea.

Agree with this 100% I can haul up to 5700 pounds in my trailer and I charge D truck rate for this. I had to stop messing with van freight cause it got to cheap. Occasionally I can get a good paying CV run but it is getting harder and harder. I consider CV rate to be 2500 pounds maximum & 48" tall, 48" wide and 96" long maximum!! The last one I did only paid 1.24 a mile and that is my minimum van rate. I took it because it was coming out of Texas and going to allot better place........Not Texas:D
