Canadians have for years paid more for fuel than necessary. With crude prices lower and the canuck buck being about par with the US buck fuel should be 10 cents or more less than it currently sits at.
Gasoline is currently running in the Ontario market (largest in the country) around the $4.95 per US gallon and does vary from that up and down depending on where you are in the province. Similar for diesel where currently it is lower than gasoline from about a low of $4.49 per US gallon to well over the $4.50 per US gallon.
There was a shortage out west in the country earlier in the year due to a refinery problem for diesel but that also caused a raise in the eastern part of the country where we had no shortage. It does appear that we are being gouged.
So for those of you coming to Canada do consider the costs of fuel up here into your expense levels and not onoly those costs others as well.
