Now be careful and do not answer that title question like you really want too. :)

I have a number of computers here at home for business reasons and I have a laptop that is in my truck. The only time I can use the web is while here at home. I know many of you do this from the road and I am curious what I have to buy to add to my laptop to be able to use the web from the road. I would go to Micro Center and ask them but if you read my POST "What an idiot" you will understand why I am not going to ask any more questions at computer stores. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need and air card that plugs into your laptop and recieves at a slow dial up speed. Otherwise contact KVH or Trac Star for a satelite unit for your truck, this unit is much faster and costs big bucks. You can get a air card at any wireless store just like your phone service... verizon, sprint, etc.. good luck and remember to get some sleep and not stay on that computer all night shopping on E Bay..LOL

Raceman,

I recommend getting a Belkin G125 wireless network card for your laptop.

The card along with it's software package allows you to locate and access the WWW via Wi-Fi where it's available on the road. It cost about $70.00 from the local OfficeMax.

Raceman if you have verizon you may be able to buy a connectivity kit for your phone from it's mfg. then down load the soft wear that comes with it.

there's no charge for internet use during your off peak hours and only normal charges during peak hours, we've had ours for well over two years now and while it won't blind you with lighting fast speed it won't cost you anything most the time either.

They (verizon) call it quicklink mobil and the connectivity kit cost somewhere around $60.00

Hope this helps out!

When you are done playing with all the computer stuff, I recommend getting a six pack of cheese coneys and a half gallon of sweet tea. Even if the computer junk still doesn't work, the items mentioned above will make everything seem just a little bit more tolerable. Please accept this tested and proven advice. - Scott

Scott, It is not bad enough that you have to tease with the food of the Gods but you insist on rubbing that truck picture in my face. Now I have made it clear how bad I want all in your POST I have confessed my weakness to you. Stop teasing me. Give me at least one of the two food items or tell me where that truck is.

If you really must know....
I have had both cheese coneys AND sweet tea IN that truck!!!! All at the same time, and yes, it was like living a dream.
I don't know the location of the truck these days, but I'm pretty sure the sweet tea and cheese coneys are stuck securely around my waist. uhhh.

I'm not positive, but I think I saw Scott's truck in the Indiana TPK earlier today.

It was wearing FECC livery.
