California Pot?

Let me tell you what they would do here if my wife smoked pot in let's say Amsterdam. If she was called in for a drug test and it was positive she would be written up, or let go, because their policy is "No Drugs" It doesn't say no drugs except where it's legal. I would think most employers would follow this

Interstate commerce laws mean NOTHING anymore under Obama.
Oh, good grief. What does that have to do with Prop 19 and driving with THC still in your system? This was supposed to be a fun question, now you're all Omabinated again.

I KNOW what would happen, is it RIGHT? This is meant to spur thinking, NOT just spout how it is today.

I think employers have the no drugs policy there for a reason, just as you shouldn't show up for work drunk or on heavy prescription drugs, pot would be the same thing. The only difference is pot stays in your system even if your not stoned

Yep, so all you have to do is not drive until it's out of your system.

As for stupid laws, outlawing pot is one of the stupidest there is. And this is coming from someone who has never smoked a joint.

OMG Layout, you need to relax and get your absentee ballot.

As for Cannabis, there are several states that allow the growing and use of it for medical purposes (Michigan is one of them) and California is having a strange issue with the DEA and ATF people raiding farms and clinics where the growing and use of it takes place. Right or wrong it has been a real issue with the Bush administration where they have been stepping up raids in California and other states but amazingly under Obama, they have relaxed a lot.

The issue with the idea of the feds overriding the law is simple, they will and can under DEA and ATF regulations. Whether or not the citizens of California pass the proposition or not does not matter, like the Prop 8 measure that was passed and then the feds said Nope not constitutional, prop 19 can also go down that path by the DEA and ATF taking it to court on the federal level.

BUT my biggest fear is what is going on here in the state of Denial - expansion of the referendums through the courts. The "growers" and clinics that popped up here and then shut down are now in a legal battle to define something different with our law because they (the unlicensed growers and clinics) say it is legal not to have a license due to the "fact" they say the law is too ambiguous and hard to understand but in reality the law is very very clear and well worded that my cats understood it the first time they read it.

Outlawing liquor during the Prohibition was the stupidest :D

Well I would suggest tomorrow you watch Stossel (the show on FBN) to get an answer to your question.

BUT from my point of view, nope not any more. Been gone for about 120 years now, sorry to break your bubble there but that is when we started to think like Europe.

Yeah but Europe is over educated and VERY short on common sense. AND, they have NO history of REAL FREEDOM. Europe has been rule their entire history and they produced Hitler and Stalin.

Actually Europe is not overeducated, if they were, then we would be in trouble because they would understand our system and culture. They do lack common sense although they are doing a h*ll of a lot better than we in regards of the economy.

BUT with that said, yes they have no history with freedoms, any of them. They instead have been taking oaths to things and people for centuries, like some have taken to Obama here.

AND the real problems that produced Stalin and Hitler were the same problems we are seeing here. The only thing to add to that is Hitler is the making of the allies from the first world war.

Better on economy? You must have never lived in England then. What a joke. The RICH get richer and almost everyone else is poor. They DO have equal access to substandard health care. Equal for the poor, the rich can get what ever they want.

If you get high one night, the next day you're not high and fine to drive, just like alcohol (if you don't overdo it).

So the most fair thing would be to increase the cutoff level of THC allowable in the system on the drug tests. It's stupid to get in trouble for the joint you smoked two weeks ago.

The feds are essentially prohibiting illegal drug use in drivers by the way the drug test works, which is sensible seeing as they are deemed illegal presently. But since in CA marijuana may be legal, it would seem to make sense to up the allowable THC level in the drug test to reflect that someone may actually be still "impaired." (By the way, I have heard a few arguments that people actually drive better when high on pot.)

As an aside, one can still do magic mushrooms 'till the cows come home, as they are not tested for—so hey it's not all doom and gloom! Happy happy, joy joy!

Our rotten, no good for nothing atty general has already stated that the Feds will AGAIN IGNORE states rights and enforce federal drug laws. None of which make as much sense as prohibition did. Works about as well too. Dang gum fools. You have to wonder what big money is behind that stupidity, besides the lawyers.
